GERTIE - ROTTWEILER (LONG COAT) DOG FOR ADOPTION

Posted Breed: Rottweiler (long coat). Adoption Fee: $450. Miss Gertie is a 3.5 year old Long haired rottweiler. She was rescued from San Bernardino City Shelter on 5/6/23. For a shelter to hold a rottweiler longer than 30 days isn't normal. That’s how we knew she was friendly. I went to meet her and brought her to the rescue ranch immediately. A few days after her arrival, she started limping. we took her to the vet and fears confirmed. She needed an FHO, essentially a hip replacement. She is now 7 months post op and ready to rock. She is definitely a companion animal, she follows me everywhere.. She loves to play fetch, shes great on a leash. She is crate trained and housebroken, shes not toy possessive. She's a phenomenal dog..she has done well with most dogs. She was adopted but recently began competing with another submissive dog for protection of the wife/child. So they regretfully made the decision to return her to the rescue. She was previously housed with 18 different dogs at the rescue. We can only assume, she just wanted to be the protector of the family and wanted the resident male Labrador to give up his position. Here at the rescue ranch she is back with 13 other dogs without any issue. Gertie is a gem, she would love to be the apple of your eye, she will share the spotlight, but only if she gets good treats.. Ha ha ha She loves to be outside, and sometimes you have to coax her back inside (she must have previously been an outside only dog) We would prefer her be a mostly indoor dog, just for her safety.
