Posted Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Meet our handsome Skip! This big guy is one of the happiest dogs you will ever meet! Skip is 75 lbs, around 2.5 years old, and thought to be a Shepherd/Lab mix. Skip is fairly new to life as an indoor pet. He came to us from a hoarding/neglect situation where he had lived his whole life outside on a tight chain hooked to a tree. He now loves to snuggle with his people and has proven to be the best bed warmer. Skip does well in the house when provided with appropriate chew bones and toys. There are so many things to sniff and see and Skip wants to do it all. He loves car rides and will jump in and happily ride in the back. He’s housebroken and crate trained. He can be overly eager to give kisses and may jump up on humans, so no young children please. He is learning how to walk on a leash, so a strong leader is a must. He will need to be the only dog in the home as he does not want to share any attention or affection with other dogs. He will be your big, goofy best friend for life though! Skip is fully vetted and vaccinated, neutered, heartworm tested, microchipped, and ready for adoption! Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals.
