    Breed: Boxer
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Bellevue, WA
Posted Breed: Boxer / Staffordshire Bull Terrier (short coat). Please meet Dallas! He is the most handsome boxer mix boy. Beautiful white and black markings and the only thing that will bring a smile to that scared face is a home of his own. This 2-yr-old punkin found himself in a high kill shelter to not fault of his own. The place made him so nervous. Luckily we rescued him in time and now all he needs is a loving home. He loves to play, run, hike, walk, snooze and cuddle. Proper introduction to other dogs is key and at his still young age, training will be a must for you and for him, so he can be the best pup you've ever had. Dallas is now neutered and updated on all shots. His adopt donation, which often is matched by companies as we are fully non-profit and tax deductible, is $395. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$395. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!

    Breed: Boxer

    Age: Adult
    Location: Woodinville, WA
Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). ~~Rocky Juan 3 yr old male No Children Dog friendly Basic training Crate trained Requires calm, quiet home with little foot traffic Woodinville, WA Hola! My name is Rocky Juan Pedro Taco Martinez Lopez, but my humans call me Rocky for short. I am an incredibly lovey-dovey baby doll. I love to sit on my foster mom’s lap. She calls it my “charging station” because when I get tired from playing with my fur brothers, I like to catch my breath while on her lap. I am also a big time cuddler when it comes to bed time. Sometimes when it is hot in the summer, I will choose to sleep on the floor, but most of the time I love to jump up and keep my humans’ feets warm and cozy. If you want me to sleep in my crate, I am totally fine with that too. I will go into my crate by choice for naps sometimes, because it is my special place. But I will also go lay down in there if you ask me to, and I won’t make a peep. I am not very high energy, so I don’t mind relaxing, but I like to play too… especially chasing squeaky toys! And did I mention that I have never had an accident in the house? Boy, I’m smart. My mom always jokes that even though I came from Mexico, so I should speak Spanish, that I understand English perfectly well. She speaks in full sentences to me, and I am so smart that I know what she wants even if it’s not a command that I know. I hope to one day get to know my new family so well that I can finish their sentences for them…and their sandwiches. Did I mention that I love food? I am so easy to train because you just have to offer me a dog cookie, and I will do anything you ask. Sometimes my foster family even gives me leftover meat from their dinners, and that is my favorite. But mi madre says that I am loco, because I love veggies too! I share stalks of celery and cucumbers with her! Talk about a raw diet! I do scarf down my dog kibble very quickly though, so my family can’t free-feed me because I will eat until my tummy explodes, I think. I have a very strict meal time, and I jump for joy when I hear the food bowls clanging, and sometimes I get to eat out of a fancy Kong toy that makes me work hard for food. I also love water. Well…to drink, that is. Though I am not much of a swimmer, I enjoy playing in the sprinkler and sticking my head into the running shower to lap up the water. I love to chew on toys and bones, but I am not aggressive with my food, toys, or dog snacks. I actually love to play tug of war with my fur brothers, but sometimes it takes me a while to convince them to play with me. I am definitely the instigator in the relationship. My mom says I have a tendency to instigate other things once in a while too. Oops. For this reason, I have to have slow, monitored introductions with new dogs and humans before we become best friends and play all day. I just like to be careful around strangers is all. I would do anything to protect my family. I love my people, and I know they would give their lives for me, so I will do the same for them if it ever comes to it. Once you are in my circle of trust, we have an unbreakable bond. Do you want to let me into your family and into your hearts? Foster mom here! Rocky J is a darling boy and is a total joy to have around the house. He is one of the most affectionate dogs I have ever met, which is a lot coming from a Boxer home. Rocky suffers from anxiety that requires him to take one pill a day that he gobbles down with some peanut butter. Before medical intervention, every single little noise or movement would spook him and he would lay down and cry terrified. We can only imagine what he has been through in his life before being rescued, but we can attest to the fact that he has made leaps and bounds of progress in the past few months with us. His fears will never fully leave him, and thus all introduction must be done slowly, on leash, and at his speed. Rocky needs a home with few visitors, with a family that understands and respects his needs – that is comfortable shutting him in the bedroom when the occasional dinner guest is over, for everyone’s best interest. He does well living with other dogs, big and small, as long as they aren’t dominant or intimidating to him. We would recommend a home with no kids, as the commotion that tends to come along with children can make his anxiety peak. He also would prefer to live somewhere with enough space to run, perhaps with a fur sibling of fitting demeanor. His fears can be a blessing too, because he loves his humans so fiercely; I have no doubt that he would protect your home if it was ever threatened. We recently were almost broken into, but Rocky J scared the burglar away (while our personal dogs cowered in the corner and would have let the burglar get away with all we had). We love Rocky so much, and seeing him go will be heart wrenching, but that is the joy of fostering these wonderful babies. Please put in your application with NWBR today right here: http://www.nwboxerrescue.org/#!adoption-form/c1dw9 If you would like to adopt him, fill out an adoption application on our website www.nwboxerrescue.org Like us on facebook for more photos of this handsome boy, as well as other boxers we have available! www.facebook.com/northwestboxerrescue

    Breed: Boxer
    Sex: Male Male

    Location: Chinook, WA
Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Teddy 7 Years Old Dog friendly-big and small Great walker Crate trained Fostered in Woodinville, WA I am a sweet, lovable, handsome boy who just wants to be with you all the time because I so enjoy my human company. I like all the dogs I have met at my foster home, even the little Chihuahua is cool. You would never know that I am seven since I act and look young. I will play and run but I am not hyper; just when you get home I get super excited and do my wiggle dance. I am treat motivated with good yummy treats. Coffee stand biscuits are just not as tasty; just like your coffee that you want your specialty way, I like to be selective too for the finer things in life. I ride great in the car and supervise your driving skills so you don’t run that red light, then change your mind at the last second and put me into the dashboard. I'll just request you floor it. I love to go fast so the speeding ticket will be all you. Otherwise I just sit quietly and enjoy the views and hanging out with you. I don’t mind crating with my other pals next to me and when we all get a peanut butter Kong. I'm not picky on peanut butter, so Winco, Safeway, Whole Foods makes no difference to me, just fill it full. I am a really good boy and don’t chew on anything or never have had an accident in the house. I have long legs and am a good jumper so a six ft. fence would be ideal for me so I don’t go visiting your neighbors looking for those special treats. I like children but prefer older more respectful ones. Kitties and chickens I like way too much, so lets stick with doggie friends. I love to go for walks and walk very well on a leash. I can sleep on a dog bed at night but would so prefer the bed so I can be next to you. Remember I love the finer things in life such as a soft comfy bed. But I will sleep on my doggie bed, if you prefer. My mom tells me I have the cutest under bite she has ever seen. My tongue will sometimes hang out just a tad to add to the cuteness overload. So if you are looking to add an amazing companion to your life, to be your best buddy so we can enjoy those finer things together. Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Miley 5 years old 72 lbs - and dropping No cats Dog Friendly Older kids preferred Great in cars and on leash Fostered in Spokane, WA Foster-pop says I’m the Rebel Wilson of dogs.He is right - I've that I’ve got the BIG personality. I snort, I snore, I make faces, I toot, I dance, and I kiss. Not so much a princess – *cockney accent* “I wasn’t raised proppha.” But you want to take me home anyways, because of all the benefits. You won’t need facials anymore: just bring your face within a foot of mine and I’ll exfoliate you in 2 minutes. You can toss your brooms and vacuums: any food that hits the floor and I’m like, “what food?” You won’t need cable: I’m entertaining as heck. All that, plus all the love and devotion I have within me. Ok, the weight thing. The vet says I should be 60-65lbs. What does he know? I started at 82lbs. I’m currently at 72. I said hello to my waist again this week and I’m feeling really good about that. I had knee surgery 6 weeks ago. I still hop a bit but it should be good as new in another 6 weeks. We go walking and foster-pop calls me “hop-a-long” or “tri-pod.” Yeah, he’s real funny, that one. But I love him. For now, I’m not at my graceful best. When I’m happy (nearly all the time) I do pirouettes in the middle of the living room, if you have Ming vases or kids that weigh less than me, you might want to get them insured. I love all humans, maybe men a little more. I like the way they smell. Cats are for chasing. Other dogs are a bonus although I like boy dogs better. I get along with girl dogs at a distance, but they say mean things about my weight. Boys are, well boys. Especially if they are not too dominant or even a little submissive (am I right, girls?) I may hafta growl at them at first so they know I’m no pushover, but we’ll all be doing the dog-pile heap in no time. Leashes? Check - I don’t pull hard; I’m more of a mine sweeper. Cars? Good - especially if I get shotgun. Food? OMG yes – I even share well. I’m generally a happygolucky, whatevercomesmyway gal who smiles all the time. Oh, one last thing. I was locked up in a shelter for over a month, (Yes, sorry, I’ve done time) and it was loud and scary. I’ve gotten over almost all of it except for big clanking machinery sounds. So unless you live next to a John Deer plant, I’m anxious to come home with you and be your cuddle ninja. If sweet Miley sounds like your kind of fun loving gal, submit an application at: http://www.nwboxerrescue.org/adoption-form

    Moeshe

    Breed: Boxer
    Sex: Male Male

    Location: Woodinville, WA
Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Moeshe 4 yr old male 62 lbs No cats Crate/house trained Large dog friendly Children over 12 yrs of age Fostered in Vancouver, WA Hello, my name is Moeshe (Mo-She) and I am as unique as my name. I have been told I have the most beautiful coat, black with gold stripes that shine in the sun. I have four white paws and some white flash on my chest. I am getting used to my crate and sleep there all night long. During the day I have been out in my foster parent’s house exploring and mainly chilling out. I have stayed in my crate for a little while during the day but if I could just be with you I would be happy. I am a pretty mellow guy and rarely bark but I do act like a puppy sometimes and just like to play. I have been going on walks on nature trails with my foster mom and I have really enjoyed these walks. I haven’t had any issues with people, children or the other dogs on my walks. I did see a cat one day and wanted to chase it so right now I don’t think sharing a house with a cat would be a good idea. My Boxer friend has walked with me and we have gotten along fine. I ride in a car well and don’t fuss much because I know that I will soon be going on a walk or shopping. I have even been to the vet a couple of time for follow up vaccinations and have gotten along fine with everyone. I do need some help on walking without pulling but I am a fast learner. I hope I can continue to cuddle with you on the couch but if that is a no-no I will understand and be ok on dog bed. But stretching out on the couch in my favorite. When I first came into my foster home, I admit I was a little scared and a bit vocal about sharing my foster mom so I do need slow introductions to people. But every day I am gaining confidence and trust in my humans and I am learning that they just want me to be happy. So when I quickly get to know others I am your friendly guy. I would probably do better in a home with children over 12 since I am still gaining trust and confidence. When I first got to my foster house I admit I did have a couple of accidents inside. Now I am going outside ok but I still need to have you help me understand how I can let you know I need to go outside. I am a fast learner and want to do what you expect of me. I have a great appetite and have eaten well since I have been in my foster home. It has only been me in my foster home so I don’t know if I like to eat with others but I haven’t had any problems with my foster family feeding me. Foster mom here: Moeshe is a loving, mellow guy that just needs a strong leader to keep him on the road to success. If someone could be home during the day that would be the best for Moeshe since he seems to enjoy being around humans. He doesn’t really seem to be interested in jumping up on counters or begging for human food. He is being trained to be on his dog bed while the humans are eating. If you want a mellow companion that just needs a little direction, Moeshe could be the right one for you. If you are interested in adopting Moeshe, please complete the NWBR application at http://www.nwbr.org/#!adoption-form/c1dw9.

    Breed: Boxer
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: Woodinville, WA
Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Junior (2) 4 year old male 70lbs Leash training and doing well NO CRATES Dog friendly, big and small Kid friendly No cats or small non-canine animals House trained Fostered in Anderson Island, WA Good day everyone! My name is Junior (2) and I am quite the guy (according to my foster mom). I have a tail, as you see, and when it gets to wagging, look out! I'm such a sweet, happy boy and you may need to clear off that coffee table. Even with my tail, I still have the famous Boxer wiggle and nothing makes me happier than being loved and doted on. So my foster mom says I have to tell you everything I can about me, because I need a special kind of home. I have something called "separation anxiety." Because of this, I need a home where my people are home a lot. I cannot be crated because of it, so I need to be able to be out moving around and playing or sleeping on the couch beside you. But foster mom says there is a cure! The cure is other dogs for me to play with. In my foster home, I have two boxer brothers and a boxer sister. I am scared of nothing with them around. They are my friends, and I love to play with them all day long and cuddle them at naptime. I need to be part of a pack and have that feeling of safety in numbers with them. I have a moderate level of energy and so I play well with everyone. One of my brothers is REALLY hyper and silly and he and I play a lot. My other brother is really mellow and he's the one I like to cuddle with. My sister is the boss around here and I am very good at taking her direction and learned immediately that she runs the show. I never push her buttons. She actually really likes me because I am smart and know how to act in a pack. I bond with people very quickly and love to be held and have my ears scratched. I don't want to leave your side. I will follow you around the house and lie down as close as I can get to you. Sometimes, I want to lie right on top of you! My foster mom says I am a big boy, but she understands my need for affection and lets me be close. I hope my new family will, too. I need to be close to my people. I sleep in the bed with my mom and my brothers and sister. Sometimes, after they all fall asleep, I will get up and go lie in the dog bed. I know I am safe with them around and it gets hot up there with so many dogs! I am good with all people. I don't jump on people, so I can even be around smaller kids. But if you're sitting, I sometimes want to crawl in your lap and due to being a fairly big boy, that might be a lot for smaller humans. However, I am really smart, and take direction very well so after just a few times of telling me that is not okay, I will look for bigger humans to lay on. Overall, I am a loving, affectionate, big boy with a HUGE heart and just need to feel safe and loved. Can you be that for me? Foster mom here! Junior (2) is such a love bug. He looks up at you with these soft brown eyes looking for a little love and attention. He needs a lot of that. He is very dependent on his people and can be easily stressed out by big changes. He requires a mixture of wet food and grain-free kibble to address some issues with being underweight. He is gaining the weight back and will be a fairly good size when he is done. He craves interaction from both dogs and people and will cry to get it. We make sure to have lots of play time and snuggle time to keep him feeling more secure each day. He is learning how to walk well on a leash. He does much better in a pack walk than by himself. If you would like to adopt him, fill out an adoption application on our website www.nwboxerrescue.org Like us on facebook for more photos of this handsome boy, as well as other boxers we have available! www.facebook.com/northwestboxerrescue

Posted Breed: Boxer (short coat). Gus 2 2 year old male 65lbs Housetrained Dog friendly Car and leash friendly Cats & Kids unknown Fostered in Spokane WA Hi, I’m Gus. Foster-pop says I’m a smart, thinking dog with a strong sense of identity. I think he means I don’t like being forced to do things. Ask me instead. I might need a minute to mull it over before I happily comply. I’m not difficult, but I’m not a typical runaround, yippee dog either. I’ll run and play with you like all Boxers do, but I’ll also watch pretty sunsets with you. I’ll sit near you when you read. I’ll snuggle up to you if you just want to share a moment. I eat just about anything, don’t beg, and share food well. I don’t mind crates and am very patient waiting for you unsupervised. I know my basic commands: sit, down, shake, stay(-ish), etc.. I’m friendly to other dogs, but not sure what cats or kids are – maybe if you showed me a picture or let me get a sample to sniff, I’ll let you know. I get in and out of cars by myself. I don’t pull on the leash and I come when you call – well, most of the time except when I **SQUIRREL!** Um, where was I? Ok, let’s get this part out of the way. I do not look like a small Boxer; I look like a large boxer that someone shrank in the wash. This does not diminish the size of my heart or my sense of loyalty. It does make most people chuckle. My shrink says that’s what caused my “Nee-pole-lee-and-come-som ething”. He says that it contributed to my lack of confidence. The therapy has helped a lot because I no longer feel afraid. Instead, I ache to feel like I belong somewhere, and bond with someone, and give them all the love I have. Just please don’t carry me around in a purse. I'm a good boy who just needs a strong leader to keep working with me as I strive for perfection. And look at me. I mean, c'mon. Posted Breed: Boxer / Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Dagwood, 09232, is a nice boy with a dignified and independent nature. He may even have a little Mastiff in him. Just look at that face, he is so gentle and sits so nicely for a treat. Dagwood needs a loving home, plenty of good nutrition to get his weight and luster back, and a large soft warm bed. He knows how to walk nicely on a leash, you just might have to remind him from time to time. How can you say no to this big guy, he surely wants a forever home and a family to enjoy the Holidays with. When contacting SCRAPS with questions about one of our adoptable dogs, please refer to the dog's Identification Number. Do not refer to the dog's name as not all staff are familiar with names. Dogs are subject to a 3 business day holding period if no owner is known and a 5 business day holding period if the owner is known. After the holding period the dog will be available for adoption. All dogs are tested using a program called "SAFER" which was developed by the ASPCA and is used to determine if a dog shows signs of aggression. SAFER scores of 1 or 2 are considered the "easiest" dog, scores of 3 require some behavior modification.
