ADOPTED! ALL OF MY PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE BELOW! 10/19/2017 - UPDATE - Fred here! I am hanging at the kennel waiting, oh so patiently, for my family to come meet me and say they can't live without me. Then, they get my leash, open the car door, get me settled in all nicely and safely, and off we go - to my new HOME. Ahhh! I can't wait. Until then, I am having some fun with my kennel buddies who visit me and take me for walks. They are so nice to me, and I appreciate their attention and love. I do love to go for those long walks. I have a lot of energy so I can go for a while. I will need some training when I get to my new home. Oh, I like to chase cats in the house, so if you have a cat you probably should not have Fred either. Sorry about that. I do love to play, but I guess you figured that. Although, when my pals come to visit I would rather hang close to them and get tons of wonderful attention. Thanks so much for reading about me. I will wait for you to come meet me. Please come soon. I am so excited to start my new life and make my family so, so happy. I have so much love to give. Yours - Fred MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Fred, and I just arrived at CSAC from a shelter. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. The Doc says I am happy, healthy, and a well mannered little guy. I need my teeth cleaned, and I am ready for my new home. Since I am so young, I still need a litttle training especially on leash walking. I get so excited...I want to go. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. If you can help, please donate. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet. My former owners felt their change in work did not leave them with the time I needed so when the shelter found me as a stray dog, they did not come and pick me up. I have lived with kids, I get along with other dogs but I am not sure about cats. I am almost house trained so I need a little help with that. I know basic commands like sit, stay and come, but I only know Spanish. I need taught my English commands. I love playing with toys. Can you help me? Breed: Cockalier
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Cocker Spaniel / Cavalier King Charles Spaniel / Mixed. Thank you for stopping by to see me! Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting. If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <underdogrescue@petml.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** DOB: 4/25/2013 Requires another dog in home: Yes Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Yes Requires a fenced yard: Yes Okay with children under 12 years old: No Reba is a special pup and needs a lot of TLC. She is about 4 years old and weighs about 23 pounds. This special girl is looking for a home where she can feel safe and secure, so that she can come out of her shell and be the dog she is supposed to be. Currently, she is very timid and fearful, especially of men, and her foster home is working with her on her bravery skills. Her crate door is left open when people are home and she prefers to stay in it until it’s time to go outside. Despite some of her fears, she is great with all dogs and will need another fur sibling in her furever home to help her gain confidence and know she is safe. She can even be playful with them and LOVES to run around with her friends. She is also good with cats. Reba is crate trained and working on her housebreaking skills. She uses a fenced in yard to do her business and has not started working on leash training yet. One way to help train her is to offer treats. She adores food and is currently under weight, so she gets lots of treats, which she thoroughly enjoys! She is quiet as can be and never barks. We know there is a pup waiting to break through and accept all the love a family can give. Just the right patient home will help her learn what the good life is all about. Can you help her do that? Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** ADOPTION EVENTS: Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/ Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN. All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog.
