Rebel – Male – 4 years old – GRRALL #0578 Update 3/1/2017: Update 3/1/17: Rebel's heartworm treatment is well underway and he is doing great! It won't be too long before he is adoption ready. Rebel's foster mama says he is the BEST boy! He gets along well with people, dogs, and cats, and is a total sweetheart. He still has a bit of a mischievous side...you may not want to leave your ham sandwich unattended on the counter, if you catch our drift, but he is a very good boy who is going to make some lucky family very happy. ### Welcome Rebel to GRRALL! Our boy Rebel is about 4 years old, and unfortunately heartworm positive. This sweet and adorable guy will get adjusted to his foster home and then start on heartworm treatment. So sad but at least Rebel will be a loved and wanted foster dog until he is healthy enough to move on to his permanent home. We will post updates as we get to know Rebel better. Rusty #0583

    rescue
    Breed: Golden Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: FORT WORTH, TX
Posted Breed: Golden Retriever (long coat). Rusty – Male – Age 2 years - GRRALL #0583 Update 2/23/2017: Update 2/23/17: Rusty is finally 100% over his kennel cough. That was probably the worst case we've ever seen and we are so relieved that he is feeling better. Now that he's all healthy, his neuter will be scheduled and he'll soon be adoption ready! Rusty has been doing wonderfully in his foster home. He gets along with anyone and everyone - men, women, children, cats, dogs...you name it, he likes it. He doesn't even bother chasing squirrels in the yard, he's such a chill dude. Rusty does have a bit of a penchant for chewing shoes and other things, so he still needs appropriate supervision and help learning what is and is not okay to chew. His foster mom says he does very well with redirection. Rusty is a big cuddlebug who would love a family who is home much of the time and who will give him all the love he deserves. We can't wait to find Rusty his perfect forever home! ### Rusty Update: 2/7/2017: WHEW!!! Rusty is starting to feel better and has started to eat! We are thrilled. Rusty was at the vet, lethargic and depressed, coughing, no appetite, and just heartbreakingly sad. Good vet care, a foster home, and extra TLC seem to have done the trick. Paws crossed, but just look at Rusty’s happy face now. He is a young boy and the worst should be behind him now. Updates to follow as our boy Rusty recovers fully…and his full puppy personality starts to unfold, with the sneaker being a hint at what is to come for our handsome guy. RUSTY UPDATE: 2/4/17: Rusty is about 2 years old and 58 lbs. He is still at the vet recovering and unfortunately not doing very well right now. Thankfully he is heartworm negative but still coughing quite a bit, has a slight fever, and no appetite. An amazing volunteer spent quite a bit of time with him and says poor Rusty is depressed, he just wanted to snuggle and be petted and loved. He is a total sweetheart. Rusty is a classic case of neglect and ended up at a high kill rural shelter, yet despite it all he loves people and is a good boy and wants so bad to get healthy and be the puppy he was meant to be. Rusty will be going to his foster home in a few days, thank goodness for foster families, and we hope Rusty’s spirits will improve once he is in a home, maybe for the first time ever. We will keep you posted on Rusty’s progress. ### Rusty is an extremely handsome golden boy, rescued from a local shelter. We will post better pictures soon but even with bad pictures easy to see he is a stunning boy, with the typical golden grace and personality. Stay tuned for more information about Rusty. Rusty needs a foster so if you are interested in fostering or adopting from GRRALL please submit an application at grralliance.org/adopt GRRALL serves the Dallas-Fort Worth/North Texas area. Posted Breed: Golden Retriever / Mixed (long coat). Bixby – Male – 2 years old - GRRALL #0596 Welcome Bixby to GRRALL! Bixby was rescued from a rural shelter, and none too soon. Our little boy is already heartworm positive but given his age we are hopeful he can be treated and ready for adoption soon. Bixby is exactly what one should expect of a young dog left on his own without training or supervision so we are already working on basic commands, leash training, and respect for toys. Bixby is a smart boy and we expect him to learn quickly. He is happy, sweet, and especially loves to cuddle. He is about 40 lbs but may still have some growing to do before he reaches his full size. Bixby needs a foster home so if you are interested in fostering or adopting him please submit an application at grralliance.org/adopt GRRALL serves the Dallas-Fort Worth/North Texas area. Roy #0587

    rescue
    Breed: Golden Labrador
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: FORT WORTH, TX
Posted Breed: Golden Retriever / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Roy - Male - 3 years old - GRRALL #0587 Update: 3/6/2017: Roy is still very skinny and is working on putting on some weight, but he is in such great shape compared to when he first arrived in rescue! His bite wounds are all healed up and the fur is beginning to grow back, which will cover his scars. This poor guy went through so much in his prior life, but he is nothing but sweet and happy. We love our Roy boy! ### Update 02/10/17: Roy is settling well at his foster home. Before leaving the vet, his foster dad did a quick visit with one of the clinic cats, and Roy was reportedly curious but not aggressive. He seems to get along with his canine foster siblings. His mom says he is a total sweetie. She also said he is like a big goofy puppy, complete with puppy lope when he runs. Sadly, we suspect th at Roy may have been used as a bait dog by dog fighters (a bait dog is used to train the fighters to attack). But sweet Roy isn't letting that awful history get in the way of his good and loving nature. He is going to make some family a wonderful forever companion. Roy needs a foster home so if you are interested in fostering or adopting Roy, or any GRRALL dog, please submit an application at grralliance.org/adopt #### Roy is the epitome of Rescue. He is a handsome 3 year old boy, covered in bites to his legs and ears, and saved by the amazing and caring staff at Dallas Animal Services (DAS). GRRALL has now taken this boy into our program and we will ensure the best care possible for his wounds, and find him a foster home where he will be safe, loved, and treated like the big puppy he was meant to be. Through all the bites and the trauma Roy still has an amazing personality, so trusting and ready to move on to the next, and best, part of his life. He is about 63 pounds and needs to gain some weight, with good quality food on a routine schedule. Thankfully he is heartworm negative. We will post updates on Roy and he heals. Roy needs a foster home so if you are interested in fostering or adopting Roy, or any GRRALL dog, please submit an application at grralliance.org/adopt GRRALL serves the Dallas-Fort Worth/North Texas area. George

    rescue
    Breed: Labrador Retriever-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: Fort Worth, TX
Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). I was rescued on inauguration day so the girls gave me the most prestigious presidential name. I am George. We all think I am about 7 to 8 years young. Pretty sure my life before now was not a good one. You see, I was found in horrible condition. I was found starving and the people at the shelter say I was just skin and bones. I have heart worms, intestinal parasites and skin issues from living outside with no or bad food. The best news is that I was saved and now resting in my foster home. Wow! I really life this new life and its like a dream come true. I already went to the vet and started all of my treatments, my foster mom gave me a good scrubbing, a brand new collar and some quality food. Stay tuned as I will be the new and improved George soon enough. I still have to undergo that painful heart worm treatment but I am a tough boy and know I will do great. My foster mommy says I am so well mannered she can't believe nobody wanted me because of how sweet and smart I am. I am potty trained and crate but I don't really need the crate. Dogs our age should have earned their right to just sleep on the bed when your gone. I walk well on leash and take treats like a pure gentlemen despite my starving history. I have a really pretty foster sister and she is also a yellow Lab and I am pretty sure she likes me.

    Dez #0594

    rescue
    Breed: Golden Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: FORT WORTH, TX
Posted Breed: Golden Retriever (long coat). Dez - Male - 2 years old - GRRALL #0594 Update 3/9/2017: Dez is a young guy at around 2 years old and about 60 pounds. He's neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped and most importantly, READY FOR HIS NEW HOME! Dez is very dog friendly and gets along swimmingly with his 3 Golden canine siblings. He mastered the doggie door within a few min utes and is housebroken. He hasn't been exposed to cats or children that we are aware of, but we see no warning signs he wouldn't be ok with them. That is what home visits are for Mr. Dez doesn't like to let his foster mom or dad out of his sight. It seems he has a fear of being abandoned again. Well, that will not be the case this time! An adopter who's home most of the day with him would be ideal. His foster mom said he whined a bit when she left, but he did settle down. She says he is a "super dog" and is going to make a person or family VERY happy! If you're interested in adopting Dez or any of our available pups, please fill out an application at www.grralliance.org/adopt. Please remember we only adopt to those living in the DFW metroplex (Dallas, Tarrant and immediate adjacent counties). Please refer to the FAQ section of our website to read more of our guidelines before applying to adopt. Please join us in welcoming Dez to our rescue and by sharing his post to help find his people! ### Dez is a 2-year-old male who came to us from a nearby shelter. He is brand new to GRRALL, so stay tuned for updates! If you are interested in fostering or adopting Dez, please submit an application at: https://grralliance.org/ applications/ . George #0595...

    rescue
    Breed: Golden Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Senior
    Location: FORT WORTH, TX
Posted Breed: Golden Retriever (long coat). George - Male - 13 years old - GRRAL #0595 Please welcome George to GRRALL. George is 13 years old and obviously a very hearty boy as he was never properly cared for, but starting now George is King and will be treated like he always deserved. We will get George up to date on his vet care and make sure he is not in any pain from normal 13 year old issues. George is an owner surrender but in the end there was one party, not the owner, who did love and care for George, called him a “perfect” dog and who could not keep him after a divorce but wanted him to be rescued and have a shot at a better life. George is a very handsome classic golden, laid back, loves to nap but also loves to go for walks. He is a friendly boy who gets along well with both dogs and cats. Our vet staff say he is a wonderful boy and loves all the newfound attention. George needs a foster home and/or permanent placement. He is a good boy who would be a loving and grateful companion, just needs good food, attention, and most of all the love and care he lacked most of his life. If you are interested in fostering or adopting George please submit an application at grralliance.org/adopt

    Breed: Golden Retriever-Unknown Mix
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: FORT WORTH, TX
Posted Breed: Golden Retriever / Mixed (long coat). Belle – Female – 3 years old - GRRALL #0598 Belle is a beautiful, petite girl, about 3 years old and only 28 lbs. She was saved from a hoarding situation in rural Texas by a small rescue who reached out to us to help. Belle likely never had any human interaction or experienced human touch before. She also seems to have never even been outside. This poor little girl is terrified and unsure of how to respond to being treated properly. Her foster mom is experienced with cases like this and is working slowly and gently to help Belle learn that people are safe and kind. It will be a while before Belle is ready for adoption, but her foster has already seen progress in her, which is a great sign! Stay tuned for updates and pictures! Katie #0588

    rescue
    Breed: Golden Retriever
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: FORT WORTH, TX
Posted Breed: Golden Retriever (long coat). Katie – Female – Age 1 year - GRRALL #0588 Katie Update 3/19/2017: Our petite little girl Katie has made such progress since she has been with GRRALL! She struggled with kennel cough, and then was spayed, but she is on the mend both physically and mentally. Katie is only one year old but was dumped at a high kill rural shelter and is learning to trust people and believe she won’t be abandoned again. The foster family is slow and easy with Katie, letting her approach them to be loved on, and respecting her desire to go into another room when strangers visit the house. Katie is currently afraid of loud noises and her foster family is working with her to understand it is ok and part of living in a home and being loved by humans. Katie is submissive and gets along well with her canine foster siblings. At this point Katie will probably do best in a quiet house, no young children, and probably another accommodating dog for comfort and security but maybe ok as an only dog in the right environment. Katie attended her first Meet and Greet on 3/18 and did extremely well; she snuggled up to several different volunteers and was interested in the activities and was soaking in her new life. If you are interested in adopting Katie please submit an application at grralliance.org/adopt ### Welcome Katie! Katie is a one year old female, rescued from a high kill shelter in rural Texas. Our new girl will be spayed shortly, and then be ready for adoption. We will post pictures and a detailed profile on Katie as soon as we get to know her a little better. Katie needs a foster home so if you are interested in fostering or adopting her please submit an application at grralliance.org/adopt GRRALL serves the Dallas-Fort Worth/North Texas area.
