    Townsend #06...

    Breed: Golden Retriever
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Golden Retriever (long coat). Townsend - Male – 2-years-old – GRRALL #0655 Welcome Townsend to GRRALL!! This stunning golden boy is 2 years old, 60 pounds, absolutely adorable, friendly and intelligent…and already heartworm positive. Townsend was dumped at a local shelter for getting into the trash in the yard but more likely because he wasn’t given a heartworm preventative and now requires expensive treatment. He is reported to be good with dogs, cats, children, and all humans. Our fantastic transport volunteer said Townsend was super sweet and had a wiggly butt. Our kind of boy! Townsend must now start heartworm treatment, heartbreaking to see a young, active, and friendly boy endure the treatment, but he will get through it and then start his life again, this time as a loved, protected, trained, and wanted family member. We will keep you posted on Townsend as we get to know him better. If you are interested in fostering, or adopting Townsend or any GRRALL dog please submit an application at https://grralliance.org/applications/adoption-application/

Posted Breed: Golden Retriever (long coat). Rita H. - Female – 6-years-old – GRRALL #0656 Say hello to gorgeous Rita! Rita is a 68 pound 6-year-old golden female, just stunning, abandoned and found wandering the streets as a stray. This little girl is ours now, and GRRALL will ensure she has a proper and permanent home. Sadly, but not surprising, Rita is heartworm positive. Thanks to our fantastic transport volunteer Rita already had a much needed spa day, next step is her spay surgery, and then we start the heartworm treatment. Poor Rita now has to endure many months of expensive and difficult heartworm treatment but at least it will be with the best of care and with a loving foster family. We will post more pictures and update Rita’s status as she adjusts to the good life. If you are interested in fostering, or adopting Rita or any GRRALL dog please submit an application at https://grralliance.org/applications/adoption-application/

Posted Breed: Golden Retriever / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (long coat). Leah – Female – 8 years old – GRRALL #0640 Update: 1/3/2018: Update 1/2/18: Leah has finished her heartworm treatment and should be ready for adoption soon. Her foster mom report ... s she is sweet, so easy, and lovable! Update 11/6/17: Leah is a sweetheart, she rarely barks and is very laid back. Leah enjoys going for a walk and loves to be loved on. She is very easy dog and gets along great with foster fur-brother. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Leah please submit an application at https://grralliance.org/applications/adoption-application/ ### Welcome Leah to GRRALL! Our new girl is a Golden/Lab mix, about 8 years old, surrendered to a local high kill shelter when her people decided having a dog was too much responsibility. Leah is heartworm positive and will require treatment, simply because she was not given preventative medicine. She is super sweet and thrilled to be sprung from the shelter; she rode great in the car on her freedom ride to the vet. Leah has the typical golden personality and is happy to start her new life, but this time with people who will love and care for her forever. Leah will receive a full medical check-up, have her heartworm disease accessed and a treatment plan developed, and is already on the road to recovery. We will post more about Leah as we get to know her better. Leah will need a special foster home to keep her safe and quiet during her heartworm treatment. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Leah please submit an application at https://grralliance.org/applications/adoption-application/ GRRALL serves the Dallas-Fort Worth/North Texas area. We do not adopt outside this region and do not ship dogs. If you are out of our area please contact your local Golden Retriever Rescue, local independent adoption groups, shelters, humane society, or other group to find your perfect forever friend.

Posted Breed: Golden Retriever (long coat). Comet – Male – 2 years old – GRRALL #0653 Comet was found running down a busy highway, at dusk, and received the best present ever when a Great Samaritan stopped to rescue him, saving his life for sure. Comet is about 2-years-old, gorgeous and sweet boy, who appears to be a pre-holiday dump in the country and had been on his own for at least several days. He was quite happy to be saved and was thrilled to go home with his Rescuer. Continuing on his lucky streak, a GRRALL volunteer jumped in her car that very night to pick up this boy and bring him to her house, to avoid Comet having to sleep outside for the night. We are so grateful to Comet’s rescuer and to all our GRRALL volunteers who drop everything to help save an animal in need. Comet is 73 lbs and appears to be healthy but will receive a full examination after the holidays, including the snip-snip. Paws crossed he is heartworm negative. We will post more about Comet as we get to know him better. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Comet please submit an application at https://grralliance.org/applications/adoption-application/ GRRALL serves the Dallas-Fort Worth/North Texas area. Posted Breed: Golden Retriever (long coat). Chewbacca (Chewy) - Male – 13-years-old – GRRALL #0648 Update: Jan 2 2018: Chewy should be done with his heartworm treatment by the end of February. He needs to have other dogs in his adoptive home so he can follow their lead, he’s not real friendly with them, he just needs them for guidance and comfort. Chewy does get confused once in a while and has an accident inside so he would do best with someone who is home most of the time to give him frequent potty breaks. He was definitely challenged by the weather we had last weekend his foster mom’s deck became very slippery and he needed help because he was afraid of falling. Despite his few age related issues he is an absolute love. Every night when his foster mom gets in bed he gets as close to her on the floor as he can so she has to be really careful when she get up not to step on him! Chewy is her little shadow If you are interested in fostering, or adopting from GRRALL please submit an application at https://grralliance.org/applications/adoption-application/ ### Update 11/30/2017: Chewy has been in his foster home for about 3 weeks. His foster mom reports he is a different dog than the one she picked up because he's wagging his tail and "hunting" in the backyard. Chewy is about 75% deaf, he has vision problems, and has few teeth but he's eating his soft watered down food anxiously. He has learned a lot just by imitating the dogs in his foster home. He follows his foster mom around and is her latest shadow. His foster mom says he is a sweetheart who is one of those rescues that truly thrived after good food, hugs and love. If you are interested in fostering, or adopting Chewy please submit an application at https://grralliance.org/applications/adoption-application/ ### Meet Chewbacca! This 13-year-old handsome guy is only 34 pounds and an absolute doll. He is heartworm positive, probably the reason he was discarded at a shelter. Chewy is kind, well-mannered and easygoing; a confident and comfortable boy. Chewy is great on a leash and loves to go for walks. We need a foster home for Chewy, a kind soul with a big heart to help him through heartworm treatment and ideally then adopt to help minimize the stops on the journey to his permanent home. If you are interested in fostering, or adopting Chewy please submit an application at https://grralliance.org/applications/adoption-application/ GRRALL serves the Dallas-Fort Worth/North Texas area. Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Murphy here. I found myself in a bad situation. You see I got lost from my owner and was stray on the dangerous streets of a deep South border town. I ran into some bad people that shot my in the shoulder but thankfully it missed my vital organs and just fractured my shoulder. I was found by a good Samaritan that took me into the emergency room. They really looked after me and got me all fixed up. The nice people did not want me going to that horrible shelter so called to see if rescue would take me in and help me find a furever loving home. So, here I am safe with Allie's Haven Animal Rescue. I am on the mend but still need to get through my heart worm treatment. I will always have a limp and they say surgery is not going to help me much. My foster mom says I am pretty chill guy that does like to play with the ball but also love to cuddle up to my people. I am an older gentlemen so prefer the calmer times in life. I am good with other dogs and people of all sizes even those little ones. Not sure about cats as I have not seen any around here. My foster mom says I am super affectionate all of the time and really love to go for rides in the car. If your looking for an older gentlemen that still has some spunk I may be your guy.

I am a typical Lab mix puppy that is playful, sweet and loves to cuddle when worn out. My foster mom says how adorable I am and how much I love to be snuggled with by those human kiddos. I am learning what a crate is, working on potty training and my social skills with other dogs. I am ready to find a loving home.

Posted Breed: Labrador Retriever / Vizsla / Mixed (medium coat). My name is Reba I am pretty sure I was named after that beautiful famous Red head country music singer. I was a stray and taken to an extremely high kill South Texas shelter and was one of the few lucky ones when Allie's Haven Animal Rescue saved my life. But I was hiding a little secret from my human friends. Not only did this awesome rescue save my life but also the 7 little lives of my unborn babies which by the way are all healthy and adorable and have already gone on to start their precious lives. I am about 2 years old and I am a beautiful Red Lab possibly Vizsla mix. I am crate trained and potty trained but need to stay on a schedule so I don't have accidents. I am pretty good on leash but get excited and pull some. I love to chase balls and can get a little bouncy. I am super food motivated and am learning my basic commands. My foster mom says I am the perfect snuggle bug. I can sleep and hang out during quiet time or go full speed in play mode. I could be an only dog but do love my playmates here in my foster home. She says I am the fastest dog here and run like a speeding deer. My foster sisters and brothers cannot keep up. Its pretty funny to see them try. My foster mom thinks I would be a great addition to an active family.
