Great Dane Dog For Adoption in Boston, MA, USA

    JoJo

    rescue
    Breed: Great Dane
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Adult
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Dane. JoJo is extremely intelligent and can be very high energy. He can be stubborn about his training, but he listens and knows what he needs to do, he just needs continued work on his focus and consistency. He has containment phobia and cannot be crated, he does fine being loose in the house and we are trying him in an Alcatraz crate,.He is terrified of storms and needs to be inside, not confined, and with his people if there is a storm. He is Halti trained and loves going for walks and rides. He really loves catching treats in the air and playing with ball toys. JoJo needs a home where he gets plenty of exercise and training. He can accidentally scratch when he jumps up, so not jumping or being overly hyper when he plays have been key areas of work. He does much better when he gets daily walks of at least a mile. He needs a family who understands the unique needs of a giant breed who still has a lot of puppy left in him. He loves to jump up and give hugs, but has been trained not to jump up unless specifically called to do so. Age: 3.5 years Weight: 80 lbs If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at http://www.lasthopek9.org/ Questions? Please email adoptions@lasthopek9.org. For more photos, or information on upcoming adoption events where you can meet her, please go to www.lasthopek9.org or go to our Facebook page. Thank you for your interest in saving a life!

    Trigger

    rescue
    Breed: Great Dane
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Dane (short coat). Trigger is a gorgeous merle Great Dane, born 4/8/16. He was raised with a family, but it is unknown whether he was a house dog or kept outside. He was consigned to a dog breeder auction with the catalog notes reading "High energy playful guy. Loves to play with our kids. Has been a good alert dog for us and for our other animals. Selling due to not having time to train him and work with him." Since he's a very big boy (standing on his hind legs he's nearly 6 feet tall) and very strong and boisterous, he will need an experienced adopter to teach him manners and how to be a good canine citizen. Because of his size and high energy level, he would do best in a home without infants or toddlers, as he would most likely knock them over by simply wagging his tail. He currently weighs 91 pounds and is nowhere near done growing yet. Trigger is very friendly and good with other dogs. He has not been cat-tested. He has been neutered, brought up to date with vaccinations, wormed, heartworm tested and dosed with Revolution for flea and heartworm prevention, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400.

Posted Breed: Great Dane (short coat). SABRINA Sabrina is a One year old, 95lb harlequin Great dane who was relinquished by her owner. Sabrina is Deaf and will require an adopter who is committed to taking her to training courses so she can klearn sign language. Sabrina is quite a cuddle bug. Once she gets to know you and trusts, she wants to be everywhere her human goes. she is sweet, attentive and smart. her hearing loss does not stop her. she loves to run and play and chase other dogs. she would do best with a companion dog so she has a playmate and mentor, but it is not a deal breaker. people familiar with great danes and or deaf dogs are a plus. she needs A LOT! of exercise, so an adopter will need a huge yard and the time and energy to keep this girl in excellent physical shape. Sabrina is on a Dehydrated Raw Human Grade diet and given that great danes need REALLY high grade Nutrition to live long and vital lives, we would like her to stay on this level diet. we also will make recommendation for a few supplements to keep her joints and muscles at their best. If you love Great Danes and want a happy go lucky girl and have the time and energy for Sabrina, contact us. Adopting a Dog requires a lot of work and is a commitment! Sabrina will be an awesome addition to a family that can give her the attention, exercise, training and affection she deserves. Healthy dogs: As a rescue saving dogs from starvation, Neglect and Emaciation, RPR focus's on feeding each rescue animal the healthiest dog food made of Human Grade ingredients to help them recover from their stress and starvation. We share this with our adopters and encourage them to keep their new pet on the same foods for optimal health and a long life. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR DOG ADOPTION: 1) These dogs are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 2) We give preference to applicants with prior Large breed or Great Dane knowledge/ experiences. 3) Secure visible fencing required. 4) You must have plan in place to socialize your dog properly. 5) Please do NOT write us and ask if this dog is available. If it is posted, it is available. BUT, we may be working other applications that came in before yours. If so, by the time you are approved, the dog may not be available. 8) The FASTEST way to be considered for a dog is to fill out an application. If you write, it will delay your application and put you to the back of the line. All the persons processing applications are volunteers that have their own dogs, families and job responsibilities. We do our best to get applications done quickly but applications for adult dogs come before puppy applications. There is always someone that will want to adopt a puppy. Health: Sabrina has been spayed , she is microchipped, current on DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies. She has been wormed and flea treated, tested negative for heartworm and Parvo History: Sabrina was going dumped in overcrowded shelter. Rompin Paws Rescue was asked to help to rescue her to keep her out of the shelter and we are so glad we did. All dogs RPR pulls from California come with health certificates, as required by Washington state Law. Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for Sabrina please go to our website: http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/ There you will find more information and be able to fill out an adoption application. Adoption Fees Adoption fee is $550.00. This covers transport from a rescue to our facility, adoption and medical such as certain vaccines, worming, parasite, and flea/tick control, and wellness exam, spay/neuter, Microchip, etc... We don't receive any grants so we rely solely on adoption fees and donations to fund all of our rescue efforts. Finally, we take on "Special Needs" dogs with high vet costs and pay for their procedures with 'leftover' funds from adoption fees for healthier dogs. About Rompin Paws Rescue Rompin Paws Rescue is a licensed, non-profit organization working towards our 501C3, specializing in rescuing moms to be, moms with puppies, puppies without moms and other Death Row dogs. We are located in Western Washington State. Our passion is to bring people and pets together. Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them. We strive to match our dog's needs and personality to the preferences and requirements of each potential adopter. We believe this is a crucial component of the process and will help ensure a life-long relationship. Our primary focus is on small mixed breeds, moms and puppies of small and large breeds, although we do occasionally take in larger dogs. We work collaboratively with shelters, other rescue groups, and individuals, both locally and in California.. RPR was established in April, 2015. we placed 400 dogs in our first year of operation in a small facility on Acreage in Arlington Washington. We have a few local fosters and seek to increase our foster base in order to save more lives Come Meet Our Pets... We have a home based operation on Acreage in Arlington and Our dogs are placed in foster homes around the greater Seattle/I-5 Corridor North to Arlington area where they receive socialization and training while they await adoption. Our Adoption Process... Since we have a small facility on gated acreage, we are unable to stay open to anyone who wishes to come visit. To facilitate successful adoptions we ask interested people and families to fill out an application for the dog or dogs they may be interested in. We screen the applications and then speak with the interested party by phone. If it looks like a good match can be made, we pre-approve the applicant and set an appointment for a meet and greet with the dogs at out facility or with the fosters who have the dogs in their care. we continue the interview in person and make sure the dog and family are a good fit.

    Scooby

    rescue
    Breed: Great Dane
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: USA
Posted Breed: Great Dane (short coat). Please take the time to read the entire profile. We spend alot of time putting as much info in them as possible. Thank you in advance. Scooby- Scooby is a stunning brindle great dane boy. He came to us with Oreo, but we do not want to place them in the same home. He is a great boy and has natural ears and tail. He is a big guy and as he gains his weight back he looks bigger and bigger. He is a great dog who just needs a home that will adore him like we do. He is a charmer and we know he will make someone a great best friend. He is such a lover and really just wants a family to love him. He is a great boy who still thinks he is a lap baby. Both Scooby and Oreo came to us from another family. They cared about the dogs but they were in need of care. The dogs looked to be a breeding pair. Oreo looked like she has had many litters of puppies. They came in full of worms and parasites. Oreo had entropic that needed operated on and both needed some training. The owner that we contacted was a great person, they just had tried to help out a family member to help find the dogs a home. Scooby loves to have a good time. He loves toys, and we don’t think he was given many of them when he was younger. He is really learning what toys are all about. He loves to have a good time and does great with other dogs but would prefer not to be picked on. He has been around cats and done well but needs more time with them as he had no idea what they were. He loves kids and does great with people. He is a smart dog and very food motivated. So we adore him. Scooby is up to date, dewormed, flea treated, altered, and ready for a new home. He is working on house breaking, crate training, and leash work. He didn’t know anything when he came to us so he has learned so much. He came to us really thin and has finally started to gain weight. He had a cold when he came to us and we wanted to make sure he was healthy before getting fixed. He is a great dog and we adore him. He loves attention, cookies, and anything that has to do with being told he is a great dog. We know he will make someone a great dog and once he is up to weight he will make someone a real show stopper. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. We try to do as much as we can to evaluate them, both with in our group and if the dogs come from other rescues or shelters their evaluations as well. However dogs are individuals and will react to different situations differently. This means that we do not know how a dog will react in every situation. We give out our best guess based off information provided but the handler of a dog and the way they are introduced to a situation makes a huge impact. So if you have any questions of how to introduce a dog to your home, please let us know and we will provide as much info as we can from pamphlets to helping find a trainer in your area. Our rescue aims to help dogs who are passed by and over looked by most rescues and people. We help the dogs who are in need of medical care, vetting, training and breeds that most will not help with. In most shelters if you are large dog, a big dog, or a male dog; from the moment you walk in you are on barrowed time. If you have docked ears or are a guardian breed your time was over before you walked in the doors. We aim to save these dogs and give them a second chance. Please help us save more lives by helping with our medical bills as they grow. This year has already been hard and we have many medical dogs in need. https://www.gofundme.com/v2eap2f8 If you would like to adopt this pet please send us an email. Applications will be sent to you via email. We do our best to get back to emails in 24 hrs. If it has been longer then that please resend another email. We would love to hear from you. We welcome any questions that you may have. Our goal is to find the right fit for every home, not just any home! We have been informed that some of the links to email us regarding our adoptable dogs are not working. This has been on going for a few weeks with petfinder and a few other links. If you find this to be an issue that you are having please send an email directly to us at: RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com If you are inquiring on a specific pet we do ask that you put the name of the pet in the subject line. So we know who it is that you are inquiring regarding. Thank you in advance for understanding as we work through this. As with any rescue we are always in need of donations. MANY of our dogs come in with special needs or medical issues. These need to be resolved before going home. If you would like to make a donation toward a dogs medical care you can use our paypal address RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com you can also email us for a physical address. We are always in need of dog food, soft food for some of our special needs dogs, collars, leashes, crates, and toys!
