Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Dexter is awesome! He is a 10 year old male who weighs about 10 pounds. He is a sweet and affectionate little guy who takes a minute to warm up to new people, but once he does, he is a super-cuddly companion. He has so much love to give! Dexter’s personality is really sweet and he loves to play with his soft toys. You can see typical terrier qualities as far as energy, playfulness, feistiness and loyalty. He bonds quickly to one person and wants to be your buddy. He loves going for car rides and makes a great travel companion, especially when he can look out the window! He also loves going for leash walks, and sitting out in the yard on a warm day. He is the sweetest little guy and would love to meet you! If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting Dexter, please submit an application on our website. Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescued pet! Posted Breed: Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed. Adoption Fee: $275.00. Adopting A Shelter Dog These dogs come without background histories/ past medical information. We present these dogs as we have observed in relationship to age, size, breed, behavior, housebreaking, crate training, good with children, cats, dogs, and strangers. Dogs may present themselves differently in different environments, therefore The Dog Spot Rescue, their agents, volunteers, can not guarantee behavior, age, size expectations, breed, house Training, destructive behavior tendencies, and/or medical issues. All dogs from shelters have been subjected to pathogens from the shelter level which can materialize into disease in the future. Each adopter must observe for themselves pre-adoption and make decisions for themselves the suitability of said dog and their tolerance levels for transitional time when adopting a shelter dog. We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog. If you are looking for a personal companion dog who will be attentive but not needy or a perfect fun dog for the kids, consider this great little dog. Callie is pretty, fun loving, very down to earth but has a sense of humor and loves to play. A good cuddle, loves to sleep under the covers, enjoys car ridesd and is ready to find her forever family. We just love Callie and her foster gives glowing reviews of her behavior and great personality. She has long legs, loves to go for walks and will dance for treats. Any dog that shows symptoms here at TDS are routinely identified, taken for tests and treatment. Our vet bills can exceed $10,000 a month. However, without symptoms, we may miss a disease, or pre-existing condition or parasite. Consider carefully if you have the tolerance for these possibilities. Posted Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $200. Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Just a scared boy that just wants to trust. Date into Rescue: 6/3/2017 Reason for being in rescue: Rural shelter, stray. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? heartworm positive. I will be sent home with a years worth of heartworm prevention. Weight: Estimated 13 lbs Height: Estimated 11" at the shoulder. Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? A fence would be great until I learn to leash walk. What kind of home would be best for me? I need an understanding quiet home that is willing to work with me. I would love to be the only beloved prince in the household. What is my personality like? I was found in another state and brought to one of their rural shelters as a stray. My past is unsure but I would love to find a family to help me forget all of the bad stuff. I am head shy.. If you come at me to fast with your hand I will tuck down because it startles me. I am very curious and love to explore my surroundings. My caregivers say I am timid and I need a little work.. but they all know there is a bright fun guy under all of this fear. 7/12/2017: Since Hugo has been here a few weeks to settle in, we have noticed he is a very head strong type of guy. He does not look for anyone elses opinion and has his own little mind. Hugo is still a little shy but he is showing us more and more of his true personality. Hugo would make a great dog for a person that enjoys independent dogs that knows how to keep themselves happy. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly but shy. More tips and tidbits: I don't care much for treats or toys so far. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Estimated birth date 6/14/2014 Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

We ask that each adopter take their time when making the choice to bring home a rescued dog. Abby is a Jack Terrier/Manchester and Chi mix who is looking for that place called home. She came in to our program from a shelter after her elderly owner passed away. No one in the family was willing to take moms dog so she ended up on a euthanasia list for space. Lucky for her, a rescue angel brought her to our program and we could not be more please. This docile, gentle, loving girl is a perfect companion dog and just needs that second leash on life.. Abby enjoys car rides, hanging out in the garden while you pull weeds, keeping the kitchen floor clean while you cook and being patient with the grand children during a visit. She could live in an apartment, condo or house as long as she gets her daily walks. Abby likes going to the petstore to pick a yummy treat. Crate trained when needed but she would adore cuddling with you at night. She can be a little shy at first meet, but do not let it daunt you. She is a quick warm up and will bond in a bat of a eye. SHe just needs to know she is safe and secure and loved. Adoption is $200.00 and includes her spay, shots , rabies, chip, worming treatment, flea meds for the month applied by our vet, bordetella. She comes with a three week trial post adoption. If interested in meeting this darling and deserving girl.please fill out an on line application at: thedogspot.rescuegroups.org and then contact us for a meet and greet appointment to meet Abby by e-mailing us at: thedogspotrescue@aol.com. No What kind of home would be best for me? Abbie is still very much a puppy, so she is seeking a home where her people are home more than they're away so she can continue learning and socializing. She gets along well with everybody and everything. The only thing she's not a fan of? Cats. Doggie friends only, please. What is my personality like? Very sweet and loving! How do I act when I first meet new people? Loves people! Other tips and tidbits: Abbie is definitely food motivated and eats very well. House trained? Abbie is still working on her house training. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: est. 2 yrs old per the shelter, but I am still very puppy so may be younger PUPPY POLICY: ~~Thank you for considering adding a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. You need to be prepared for that work. Because our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious where we put puppies. Our ideal puppy adopters are: *experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets *be scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day *and for those gone 4 hours per day have another canine companion in the home *be stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) If you fit this criteria, please apply for this puppy. If you do not fit this criteria, we strongly encourage you to look at our adoptable adult dogs. The number one misconception that we hear routinely from new dog owners is that they want a puppy because they do not think they can handle correcting past bad behaviors or resolving baggage. Not every adoptable rescue dog carries such baggage. Many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who have lost their families through no fault of their own. The second misconception we hear is that adult dogs can not bond with a new family. This again is not a true statement. Adult dogs are ready and eager to give you their love. In return, you get a family pet that is a known quantity, known size and shape and color and ready to start on the new adventure, their life with you. Lastly, training a puppy correctly is a tremendous commitment of time and energy. This is why we ask the puppy seeker have more time at home than the average working family. Puppies are gregarious and social creatures who crave attention and positive direction. You need the extra time to do it right.~~ Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
