    Breed: Mastiff
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Senior
    Location: Newcastle, ON
Posted Breed: Mastiff. *COMING SOON* ALMOST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTIONHi I'm Khali and If you are into naps I might be just the girl for you! Don't get me wrong everyone enjoys a walk around the neighbourhood and my leash manners are fantastic, but I prefer to leave most of that "exercise" stuff to the younger generation! I really would much rather hang out around the house with my people and am also good with other calm easygoing dogs. I'm not a big fan of the cats they have in my foster family's house (although they keep insisting that they are allowed to be here) I'm pretty sure I'd like to chase them out so if you are for me you probably won't have any of those "felines" in your house! My foster family has given me a nice cushy bed in the living room and another in my bedroom since I have very nice manners and do not even try to get up on the furniture (I think it's too much like work to climb up). If I may make one request I much prefer to have free run in the house or have a room of my own, and get quite upset if locked in a crate...those are for dogs not ladies like me!! The great thing about us "mature" ladies is we do not chew on things like puppies do, I certainly would never mess in the house and I'm more than happy to snooze and take care of the house while you are away at work earning cookie money for me!! Speaking of food I have excellent table manners and have no problem with people being near me when I'm eating, and am happy to do anything you ask to get treats! I do love having company young and old and win the heart of everyone I meet, my foster mom says I am just such a sweet dog she can't imagine how anyone could give me away. Oh and Shhh don't believe what they say I'm not 10...I'm 1, with 9 years of experience :)KHALI IS BEING FOSTERED IN~ Penetanguishene

    Gemma

    rescue
    Breed: Mastiff
    Sex: Female Female
    Age: Young
    Location: Yakima, WA
Posted Breed: Mastiff / Neapolitan Mastiff (short coat). Please take the time to read the entire profile. We spend alot of time putting as much info in them as possible. Thank you in advance. Gemma- Gemma is a darling young English mastiff neo mix girl. She is a stunning brindle girl with a white tip of her tail and white on her chest. She is a stunning girl and has a sweet as can be personality. She is a big girl and still filling out. She is very sweet and really just wants a family that will not only love her and adore her but be her leader and give her direction. She is an amazing girl and just needs a home that will love her for who she is. She is a smart girl who aims to please and would love a home that will give her something to do. Gemma came to us from her past family. They had taken her to training classes, spent lots of time socializing her and loved her. She was in a home with a family and other pets too. However she did not have any leaders in her home and nipped at the youngest child when they were wrestling. For this reason we do not want her in a home with small kids under 10. We do not feel that this was out of aggression, we feel that she was never taught to be a dog around people and was correcting the child like she would correct a puppy. She has not shown any aggression towards kids in her foster home, and does great with older kids who have respect for dogs and does not use them as toys. However the family was not a good fit because they did not see her as a dog, but instead seemed to be using her as an emotional crutch. She needed to be her own being and seen as a pet. That is a lot of responsibility for a dog to be under and can cause the dog to be stressed. She deserves a home to be a pet. Gemma is a great girl with other dogs, cats and loves older kids over 10. She wants to be someones pet and cuddle buddy, not a play toy. She is a happy girl who really has a zest for life. She is nervous and worried in a home with out a leader, but once she knows you have things handled she does amazing and can kick back and you can see her for the happy go lucky puppy girl she is. She loves to play and have a good time and loves nothing more then a good game of butt tuck! She is a great girl for the right family. She just needs someone that can be the owner she needs. She is amazing and we know that the right family is out there. She adores people, loves to hang out and really has a good set of training on her. She is an amazing girl and we adore her She is a gem and everyone who meets her falls in love with her. Gemma is up to date, dewormed, flea treated, and altered. She is microchipped. She is house broken, crate trained, does well on leash and knows basic commands. She is good with dogs, cats, and kids over 10. She is a smart girl and loves cookies. But also loves attention. She will do anything for a treat. She is a great girl and we adore her. We know that she just needs someone that will love her as much as she deserves. She doesnt seem to have any health issues that we have seen and is a great girl for a home who just wants a great pet and loving friend. She is an amazing girl and would love a home with another doggy friend, or even just a family. She is a doll and cute as a button. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. We try to do as much as we can to evaluate them, both with in our group and if the dogs come from other rescues or shelters their evaluations as well. However dogs are individuals and will react to different situations differently. This means that we do not know how a dog will react in every situation. We give out our best guess based off information provided but the handler of a dog and the way they are introduced to a situation makes a huge impact. So if you have any questions of how to introduce a dog to your home, please let us know and we will provide as much info as we can from pamphlets to helping find a trainer in your area. Our rescue aims to help dogs who are passed by and over looked by most rescues and people. We help the dogs who are in need of medical care, vetting, training and breeds that most will not help with. In most shelters if you are large dog, a big dog, or a male dog; from the moment you walk in you are on barrowed time. If you have docked ears or are a guardian breed your time was over before you walked in the doors. We aim to save these dogs and give them a second chance. Please help us save more lives by helping with our medical bills as they grow. This year has already been hard and we have many medical dogs in need. https://www.gofundme.com/v2eap2f8 If you would like to adopt this pet please send us an email. Applications will be sent to you via email. We do our best to get back to emails in 24 hrs. If it has been longer then that please resend another email. We would love to hear from you. We welcome any questions that you may have. Our goal is to find the right fit for every home, not just any home! We have been informed that some of the links to email us regarding our adoptable dogs are not working. This has been on going for a few weeks with petfinder and a few other links. If you find this to be an issue that you are having please send an email directly to us at: RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com If you are inquiring on a specific pet we do ask that you put the name of the pet in the subject line. So we know who it is that you are inquiring regarding. Thank you in advance for understanding as we work through this. As with any rescue we are always in need of donations. MANY of our dogs come in with special needs or medical issues. These need to be resolved before going home. If you would like to make a donation toward a dogs medical care you can use our paypal address RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com you can also email us for a physical address. We are always in need of dog food, soft food for some of our special needs dogs, collars, leashes, crates, and toys!

    rescue
    Breed: Mastiff
    Sex: Male Male
    Location: Yakima, WA
Posted Breed: Mastiff (short coat). Please take the time to read the entire profile. We spend alot of time putting as much info in them as possible. Thank you in advance. Marshal- Marshal is a stunning English mastiff boy. He is a huge lover and everyone falls in love with him. He is a huge fawn boy with natural ears and tail. He is a stunning guy and still looks like he has some growing to do. He is a great dog and we adore him and his happier then life attitude. He is a charmer and we can not thank the people who saved him enough. He is a great dog and we adore him. He is going to make a family really really happy. We adore the big lug. He is still a puppy at heart and weighing almost 150 lbs means he is alot of dog and may need a home that can handle his happy personality and his size. Marshal came to us from a vet clinic who could not put him down. The owners had purchased him as a puppy, and we hope that they cared about him and loved him. But we doubt it. They left him outside where he was alone and bored. When he had no one to spend time with him he decided to take himself for a walk and find someone. His owners decided that they didn’t have time to spend with him and rather then putting him up for adoption or looking for a rescue, that was to much work, they just took him to the vet to be put to sleep. At bearly 18 mo he was going to die, because he was not little and cute any more. Don’t tell him that, we think hes adorable! Thank goodness for us and for him the vet could not do it. So they called and asked for help. What an amazing dog he is. We are so happy to meet him. Marshal is a great boy. He loves to be the life of the party and was loving his time at the vet clinic being doted on by all kinds of people. He loves to go for walks, trips to the pet store, and just have a good time. He is a charmer in the car and does great. He is a sweet guy with people and kids and just amazing. Due to his size we suggest kids over 5 since he can knock them over. He is good with dogs but can be confused by them at first. So we suggest dogs over 50 lbs, he also seems good with cats. He is over excited when he meets new dogs, so he will need a slow intro with new dogs. He just wants to be someone’s cuddle buddy. He is super smart and does about anything for a cookies. He is a silly guy who just wants to have a good time and a family that will spend time with him. Marshal is up to date, dewormed, flea treated, altered and micro chipped. He is a stunning boy and easy to love. He doesn’t seem to have any health issues and is house broken, crate trained, and does well on leash. He does great with basic commands but they are still new to him and he is learning them. He is great with dogs once he has had a time to adjust to them. He also seems to be ok with cats with an intro. He does great with men and women, but is a little timid at first with big men. Most mastiffs are. He is a stunning charming boy who is going to steal the heart of someone. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. Location: Yakima, WA
Posted Breed: Mastiff (short coat). Please take the time to read the entire profile. We spend alot of time putting as much info in them as possible. Thank you in advance. Cooper- Cooper is a stunning fawn English mastiff guy. He is a big boy and has a sweet personality. He can be a bit of a moose at first so a home with mastiff experience would be best. He is a stunning dog with natural ears and tail. He is a big boy and as he fills out he is getting bigger and bigger. He is a great dog and we adore him. He is playful and getting more and more so each day. He just didn’t know how to play with us when he came. He is a silly guy who we just adore. He is amazing. He just needs a good home that can give him rules, boundaries and a lot of love. Recently we took in a number of dogs from another rescue. These dogs were taken in by them and we did not get the full stories on many of them and their histories, as it seemed the rescue disbanded and these dogs were left with out any options. We do not pass judgment when helping dogs and will help dogs when in need. Many of these dogs came to us severely Emaciated. They also had wounds, abscesses, and parasites. We are getting them back to health and as we do we are getting to know them better and better. Gaining the amount of weight many of these giants needed is a slow process, and many of them will need to continue to gain weight for months still. Healthy weight takes time. We try not to gain more then 10 lbs a month of healthy weight. Some of these dogs were 60-70 lbs under weight. These are amazing dogs who deserve a great chance at a wonderful life. These dogs are amazing and cherish every shred of love, grain of food, and soft place to lay. We want nothing more then to give them a wonderful place and family to love them, and make their holiday wishes come true. Cooper is a great dog and we adore him. He is really a happy go lucky guy who would do best in a home with no other dogs but would also do well in a home with other dogs if the adopters took time to adapt him to a new home. He acts as if a lot of other dogs have attacked him and he is fearful at first. He is a great dog and does really well with people. We do not know how he does with cats, being that he came in from a kennel situation we feel that he was never exposed to them. So as with most dogs he may adapt with enough training. He is a great dog who really just needs a good home that will love him. He is smart and willing to please. He just needs a good home that will teach him how to be an amazing pet. Cooper is up to date, dewormed, flea treated, altered and just a great dog. He is a happy healthy guy now that he is gaining some weight and doing better. He just may need to be watched around food as he has learned to eat as fast as he can. He is a great dog and we adore him. He is learning so much and is doing well with house breaking, crate training and even learning basic commands. Hes done great with people but can be pushy, So we suggest kids over 10, or larger kids that can not be pushed around. He would love to have a family active in his training. He is a great dog and we adore him. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. If you have questions about our adoption procedures, please go to our Pages of Interest on the left hand column under "Adoption Info." We answer email inquiries almost immediately-usually always within a few hours and phone calls are returned with 24-36 hours. GPMR does not have a shelter. All of our dogs are kept in loving foster homes. We must have a completed adoption application on file before meeting any of our mastiffs. GPMR adopts to the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana and parts of Colorado. !!!Any mastiffs being adopted out of the state of Oklahoma require a health certificate to be paid for by the adopter!!! Meet Amber! She came to us via another rescue when her owner passed away. Amber was raised with another dog and kids and we'd love to place her with a family who has both. She is 2 years old and weighs 125 lbs. She's a little on the thin side and her ideal weight would be about 135 lbs. She does well with medium and large size dogs, and a home without small dogs or cats would good for Amber. Amber came to us with fleas and intestinal parasites, both which have been treated, and she also tested positive for heartworms. She has started heartworm treatment and will be ready for adoption in December. She knows some basic commands but does need some additional help on how to walk on a leash without pullling too much. :) This girl is about as sweet as they come! Amber is being fostered in Kansas City, MO Save a Mastiff...Adopt, Foster, Volunteer!

Posted Breed: Mastiff (short coat). Don't let his size and his deep bark fool you; Knotts is a big softy. He walks beautifully on a leash. In fact, he has great manners all around. Though he's a little shy with new people at first, he warms up quickly and then loves to play and snuggle. He does have to be watched carefully with toys, though, because he has a tendency to eat them. Knotts was born in 2014. He has great dog skills, but shouldn't be around small dogs or cats because of his size. If you've got room in your heart and home for a gentle giant, Knotts would love to be your dog.
