Posted Breed: Mastiff (medium coat). Postre has the sweetest soul. You can see it in his eyes. He also has an adorably squishy face. He's easygoing and doesn't complain about anything. Born in 2014, Postre is still learning lots of new things. He loves being praised and tries his hardest to do what he's asked even when he gets distracted. While he can be highly excitable on a leash, his caregivers are working with him on it. Postre's a little picky with his doggie friends and prefers females. He'd be happy in a home with the right doggie friend or as your only furry friend.

    Breed: Mastiff
    Sex: Male Male
    Age: Young
    Location: Yakima, WA
Posted Breed: Mastiff (short coat). Please take the time to read the entire profile. We spend alot of time putting as much info in them as possible. Thank you in advance. Cooper- Cooper is a stunning fawn English mastiff guy. He is a big boy and has a sweet personality. He can be a bit of a moose at first so a home with mastiff experience would be best. He is a stunning dog with natural ears and tail. He is a big boy and as he fills out he is getting bigger and bigger. He is a great dog and we adore him. He is playful and getting more and more so each day. He just didn’t know how to play with us when he came. He is a silly guy who we just adore. He is amazing. He just needs a good home that can give him rules, boundaries and a lot of love. Recently we took in a number of dogs from another rescue. These dogs were taken in by them and we did not get the full stories on many of them and their histories, as it seemed the rescue disbanded and these dogs were left with out any options. We do not pass judgment when helping dogs and will help dogs when in need. Many of these dogs came to us severely Emaciated. They also had wounds, abscesses, and parasites. We are getting them back to health and as we do we are getting to know them better and better. Gaining the amount of weight many of these giants needed is a slow process, and many of them will need to continue to gain weight for months still. Healthy weight takes time. We try not to gain more then 10 lbs a month of healthy weight. Some of these dogs were 60-70 lbs under weight. These are amazing dogs who deserve a great chance at a wonderful life. These dogs are amazing and cherish every shred of love, grain of food, and soft place to lay. We want nothing more then to give them a wonderful place and family to love them, and make their holiday wishes come true. Cooper is a great dog and we adore him. He is really a happy go lucky guy who would do best in a home with no other dogs but would also do well in a home with other dogs if the adopters took time to adapt him to a new home. He acts as if a lot of other dogs have attacked him and he is fearful at first. He is a great dog and does really well with people. We do not know how he does with cats, being that he came in from a kennel situation we feel that he was never exposed to them. We have been working with him on cats and have seen some promising behaviors. However he is not going to be a dog that can be tossed in with cats. He will need time and training. He has learned to leave the cats at his foster home alone, but they are all inside and are dog savy. So he will need a home that is going to put the work in with him and cats. We do not think he would do well with small dogs as he is reactive with dogs, and a small dog would likely be seen as prey. So as with most dogs he may adapt with enough training. He is a great dog who really just needs a good home that will love him. He is smart and willing to please. He just needs a good home that will teach him how to be an amazing pet. Cooper is up to date, dewormed, flea treated, altered and just a great dog. He is a happy healthy guy now that he is gaining some weight and doing better. He has gained over 50 lbs! He just may need to be watched around food as he has learned to eat as fast as he can. He is a great dog and we adore him. He is learning so much and is doing well with house breaking, crate training and even learning basic commands. Hes done great with people but can be pushy, So we suggest kids over 10, or larger kids that can not be pushed around. He would love to have a family active in his training. He is a great dog and we adore him. He loves to have a good time, and loves to play. He is still a puppy at heart and will play tug and chase for hours. He is a great dog who we adore and know he will find an amazing home. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. We try to do as much as we can to evaluate them, both with in our group and if the dogs come from other rescues or shelters their evaluations as well. However dogs are individuals and will react to different situations differently. This means that we do not know how a dog will react in every situation. We give out our best guess based off information provided but the handler of a dog and the way they are introduced to a situation makes a huge impact. So if you have any questions of how to introduce a dog to your home, please let us know and we will provide as much info as we can from pamphlets to helping find a trainer in your area. Our rescue aims to help dogs who are passed by and over looked by most rescues and people. We help the dogs who are in need of medical care, vetting, training and breeds that most will not help with. In most shelters if you are large dog, a big dog, or a male dog; from the moment you walk in you are on barrowed time. If you have docked ears or are a guardian breed your time was over before you walked in the doors. We aim to save these dogs and give them a second chance. Please help us save more lives by helping with our medical bills as they grow. This year has already been hard and we have many medical dogs in need. https://www.gofundme.com/v2eap2f8 If you would like to adopt this pet please send us an email. Applications will be sent to you via email. We do our best to get back to emails in 24 hrs. If it has been longer then that please resend another email. We would love to hear from you. We welcome any questions that you may have. Our goal is to find the right fit for every home, not just any home! We have been informed that some of the links to email us regarding our adoptable dogs are not working. This has been on going for a few weeks with petfinder and a few other links. If you find this to be an issue that you are having please send an email directly to us at: RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com If you are inquiring on a specific pet we do ask that you put the name of the pet in the subject line. So we know who it is that you are inquiring regarding. Thank you in advance for understanding as we work through this. As with any rescue we are always in need of donations. MANY of our dogs come in with special needs or medical issues. These need to be resolved before going home. If you would like to make a donation toward a dogs medical care you can use our paypal address RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com you can also email us for a physical address. We are always in need of dog food, soft food for some of our special needs dogs, collars, leashes, crates, and toys!

    Age: Young
    Location: Yakima, WA
Posted Breed: Mastiff (short coat). Please take the time to read the entire profile. We spend alot of time putting as much info in them as possible. Thank you in advance. Coco- Coco is a sweet young English mastiff girl. She is a big girl and a stunning fawn color with natural ears and tail. She is a great girl who needs an understanding home that can give her time to adapt to a new home. She is a sweet girl and loves attention once she warms up. She had a really rough start and deserves an amazing home. She is a huge girl with a heart of gold. She loves her people and will do anything for them. She is a great girl and we adore her. She is still a playful puppy who just wants to have a good time. But she needs a home that will give her rules and spoil her at the same time. Coco came to us when her family was unable to care for her. Both her and Fry were going to be homeless. The family had gone through a divorce and were loosing their home and business. The dogs both came to us with some medical issues, and behavior issues. Both seemed to have been secluded and not given any socialization for some time. They were scared of everything including people and other dogs. They do best in separate homes, as other wise they feed off each other and are scared of everything together. Other wise they are more confident and seem to be happier. So for this reason we are not placing them together. They deserve a great home where they can be the dogs they deserve to be. It seems that the owner was a drug user and we feel it is likely that the people she was interacting with were not only unstable but abusive. Mainly men seems to be her fear. Coco is a great dog who is timid and fearful at first. She acts like she has been beaten at some point by someone in her life. She is good with other dogs that are medium to her size. She is interested in chasing small dogs and cats. So she would need a home with time to work with her, or understanding that she never needs to be around them. She knew nothing when she came to us so she is working on basic commands and doing really well. She would do best in a home with no kids under 10, since she is fear based she can be spooked by the noises they make. She does well with dogs, and best with dogs her size. She would love a confident dog in her home to be able to show her how to be a happy go lucky girl. She is a great dog who just needs an understanding home who can give her rules but also be able to build her up emotionally. Coco is up to date on her vaccines, dewormed, flea treated and spayed. She is house broken, crate trained, and does well on leash. She is working on basic commands and doing well. She is timid with new people but we are working on introductions and she is much better. She is a great girl who needs a good home. She does well with other dogs but we suggest bigger dogs who are non reactive as she can be over powering. She needs a home that also can work with her and small animals as she had no training when she came to us. She is really smart and loves to go for rides, have a fun day playing around and is still very much a puppy. She is a great dog who just needs the right home and right situation. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. Posted Breed: Mastiff (short coat). Please take the time to read the entire profile. We spend alot of time putting as much info in them as possible. Thank you in advance. Holly- Holly is a stunning older mastiff girl with a heart of gold. She has had such a rough start and deserves a soft home to lay her sweet head. She is a big girl with a stunning fawn coat, black mask, and some frosting on her face. She has been looked over so much due to her frosting and wants to remind everyone that even older dogs are great dogs. She wants a family and someone to spend her life with. She is not short on time or on life, she has lots of love to give. She has really filled out since being in foster and is really just blossoming into a great dog. She is a great girl who is very scared and needs a home that understands how to work with a dog who has clearly been abused and fearful. She is an amazing girl and we adore her. Holly is a great girl. She came to us from a high kill shelter where she was for over a month with no one stepping forward. As is normal for mastiffs in this shelter, even though there are large breed rescues in this area, dogs who are not considered quickly adoptable are often put down. She is a sweet girl but very scared. We do not know much about her past. She was picked up as a stray. She acts like she has been left in a back yard with very little interaction with people. She is pretty independent but loves attention. She is a great girl who just needs a chance to be an amazing dog like we know she will be. Holly is a doll. She loves attention but doesn’t know how to ask for it yet. She was clearly not a loved family pet, she deserves so much more. She does great inside, amazing with other dogs, and has even been around cats and done well. She is timid of new people so we suggest a home with no small kids, or at least respectful kids as she is not aggressive just scared. She loves attention but doesn’t know how to ask for it. She is a great dog and will be worth gold to anyone who is willing to look past her fear and help her become the amazing dog we know she can be. Holly is up to date, dewormed, flea treated, altered, and microchip. She is doing great with house breaking, crate training, leash work but is still very scared. We feel that she had never been on leash till she came to us. She does great in a yard but has never seen a doggy door. She is a nervous girl who loves her crate and bed. She loves anything soft. She does not know what toys and treats are. So she needs a home that can show her the good things in life. She is a great girl and we adore her and know she is going to be an amazing dog for the right family. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. If you have any questions regarding one of our Mastiffs, please read their bio and if you still have questions- drop us an email at info@greatplainsmastiffrescue.org . If you have questions about our adoption procedures, please go to our Pages of Interest on the left hand column under "Adoption Info." We answer email inquiries almost immediately-usually always within a few hours and phone calls are returned with 24-36 hours. GPMR does not have a shelter. All of our dogs are kept in loving foster homes. We must have a completed adoption application on file before meeting any of our mastiffs. GPMR adopts to the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana and parts of Colorado. !!!Any mastiffs being adopted out of the state of Oklahoma require a health certificate to be paid for by the adopter!!! Meet Georgia! She originally came into GPMR in 2010 and was adopted, but returned in Sept of 2016 due to changes in her family and they were no longer able to keep her. Georgia is about 8 years now but has the spirit of a 2 year old pup. She is just about the silliest girl and will keep you laughing. She craves attention and loves spending time with her people and her foster Mastiff brother. Georgia seems to do better with male dogs than females as she likes to be bossy and the males seem to have a better time with that. She does OK with cats but will chase cats that run away from her, but easily corrected when this happens. She is great with kids of all ages. Georgia's adoption fee is waived because she will be on life-long medications for arthritis and to control urinary incontinence. She is part of our "Fall in Love" adoption special. She would love a forever home of her own - is that home yours? Georgia is being fostered in Yukon OK. Save a Mastiff...Adopt, Foster, Volunteer!
