Posted Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier / Mastiff / Mixed (short coat). The dogs Arcadia Animal Rescue saves are mainly located in southern states, such as NC, SC, TN and TX. We can transport to most states, through partner networks. Virtual meet n greets can be arranged for all non-local adopters. *URGENT - Foster/Adopter Needed ASAP* Meet Blue! This gorgeous girl found herself in an overcrowded kill shelter in NC, through no fault of her own. Blue is in a boutique boarding facility, where she has been able to relax, exercise, socialize and she is ready to go to her furever home!! Blue is about 4 yrs old, absolutely LOVES people, she's a sweetheart, actually a huge sweetheart! She would fit into any type of home, so long as she can have space for zoomies and be around people, she's home!! BUT she's a BIG girl! Over 100lbs and all muscle!! A huge cuddly bear of your own!!!!! Walking her would be a solid workout for you. Honestly though, so long as she has a tall fenced yard, she will run circles and zoomies all day long to her heart's content!! She is fine with dogs her own size. A home without cats or small dogs will be the best fit for this lady. If you could open your heart and home for Blue, please contact her rescue angel Anne-Marie on 919 608 9314 immediately. Note: Some pups are in boarding facilities in order to save their lives. This is far from ideal, they really need to be in loving homes. Due to record number owner surrenders this year, we have zero foster homes available. Fostering helps save another pup from euthanasia in an overcrowded kill shelter needing to free up a kennel. What is known about Bandog history The Bandog or Bandogge was a name first given to dogs of the mid 1200-1300's. Originally not a breed but a term used to describe dogs that were bound during the day often by chain and then set free at night as guard dogs to deter intruders. Originally this dog was made up of various varieties each with a focus on its guardian nature. The natural inclination due to purpose was to select dogs of various mollosser types thus their more eventual standardized look resembling many of the bully breeds today.
