Posted Breed: German Shorthaired Pointer / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Cleo has been with PAWS since December 2022 and has undergone some healthy changes. When she first arrived, our vet said she was obese at almost 64 pounds and heartworm positive, which can be fatal to dogs. One year later and she weighs a healthy 52 pounds and has said goodbye to those pesky heartworms!! Food is still her love language and probably always will be. One thing that hasn't changed about Cleo, is the pure joy and excitement she shows when our volunteers come to visit her. We know her home is out there but we're grateful to be her family until then!! All PAWS cats and dogs are current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm disease. Cats/kittens are tested (and are negative) for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis.
