ter. They are true Christmas miracles. The pups were born on 10/31 and are Husky mixes. Mom is a purebred Husky but we don't know what dad is. They are being fostered in MD and anyone wishing to adopt must be willing to travel to MD to do so. They can be adopted by families who reside in MD or surrounding states. All puppies must be spayed/neutered BEFORE 6 months of age, by our vet. No exceptions. This is covered by the adoption fee. We will reclaim any of our dogs should an adopter not follow this protocol. All puppies have had age appropriate vaccines. The puppies are considered no paws on the ground until they are 16 weeks old. This means no outings, walks, daycare, etc until they have been fully vaccinated at 16 weeks. Private fenced yards are okay to use during this time. The puppies should not be left alone for more than a couple of hours at a time at this age. Any adopter must be able to demonstrate their ability to meet his criteria. Applicants with breed experience will be prioritized. If you have not previously own a Husky, do your research! Start here: .huskyrescueteam/education Huskies aren't a breed for everyone. The puppies would love homes with fenced yards, older kids and other social dogs to play with. This is not mandatory criteria but applications who meet these will be prioritized as most compatible. We also cannot guarantee they will be cat friendly, even if raised with a cat. Sometimes Husky DNA runs strong and you cannot train DNA out of a dog. If you apply and have a cat, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to separate and rotate if the need should arise. When applying feel free to mention the pup you're interested in but be open to allowing us to match your family with the pup whose personality best aligns. Ru needs a home with Husky experience. ~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at .huskyrescueteam/apply If you have additional questions please email infohuskyrescueteam

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
