ort end of the stick and remains in boarding at no fault of her own. Gloria's ideal home would be filled with love, toys, dog beds and cookies. Lots of cookies! 10/7 Gloria here checking in. As you can see I have some updated pictures from a wonderful rescue volunteer. I did my best cheese for the camera and I think that I look super cute! I have been super busy these last few months looking for a home and can you believe it?! I haven't found my perfect forever yet! I don't have any idea why... not to brag but really, I'm smart, super cute, low key and wonderful companion! Today I went to meet a forever family and they loved me! but they had this thing call a cat. My foster mom said that I did awesome in not reacting but she didn't like me much. I sniffed at her and walked away she grabbed me and scratched me in the face. I didn't really like it so after she got under the couch and started hissing at me I decided that I might want to get to her. So even though the family loved me they decided it was best that they didn't keep me. I'm super bummed but my foster mom stopped at this magic window thing on the way home and I got to share a chicken sandwich (yum!) so it wasn't all bad. I did really well and my foster mom was super proud of me for not trying to eat her so we are saying no cats for now. Anyway, now to share what I am looking for in a forever family. My top 3 things are 1. they will love me forever (of course) 2. they will take me on walks and spend lots of time with me and 3. they will have cool toys and snacks at their house (I mean a girl knows what she likes). Thanks for considering me! Kisses- Gloria 8/30 I'm still here can you believe it? I'm available and looking to be your forever! Pick me, pick me! 7/24 Gloria checking in. She went to an event yesterday and enjoyed every minute! She was the official meeter and greeter at the store. She checked with each person coming into the store. If she didn't get them checked in she made sure to stop them on the way out. She met a family with several kids and did wonderful with all. She got to meet the resident cats through the cages, she sniffed and walked away with no interest at all. She was good with all of the dogs at the event as well as the dogs coming into the store. She is wonderful girl looking for forever! 6/25 Gloria is doing awesome! She went to hang out with another foster while her foster mom was out of town for a week. She fit in nicely with multiple dogs, all ages and sizes. Her temp foster said that she worked out really well with the pack at her house. She loved playing with all of toys and enjoyed her time away at camp. Gloria enjoys making a nest to sleep/nap in. Other then toys her second favorite thing is tossing pillows and fluffing the bed for a perfect nap time and spot. She is looking for forever and would love to be in a home for the summer! 5/29 We can't believe that Gloria is still available! She has been patiently waiting for someone to see what a gem she really is. She has so much love to offer and just wants a home of her very own. 5/23 Gloria is a wonderful girl who has been with us a little over 3 months. She has been out to several events and done wonderful at each one. She is good with other dogs, people and has been good around kids of all ages at events. She has turned it to quite the sweet girlie. She enjoys spending time with her people and pack most of all. She loves toys rope toys and tug of war toys seem to be her current favorites. She is a perfect girl just looking for a forever home. Could it be with your family? 4/16 Gloria came into ACCT after having at least 1 litter of puppies, she was brought up to date on shots and spayed. She has now had some time to decompress and show us what a wonderful girl she really is. She enjoys meeting new people and dogs, walks of any kind and snuggles are her favorite! 3/5 Gloria arrived to rescue about 2 weeks ago from ACCT Philadelphia. She is wonderful, sweet girl looking for a forever home. She loves walks, car rides and snuggling. Please consider making her part of your family today!

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
