y and emaciated, from a shelter in Texas, he’s now flourishing at 35 pounds and still growing while he learns his basic doggy ABC’s. He loves children, adults and dogs his own size or larger, and even shares the bed at night with his large Boxer housemate. As sweet as his name, he’s very playful and affectionate, and loves cuddling on his foster mom’s lap almost as much as sun bathing and munching on hard chew toys and bones. Motivated by food and treats, and currently being clicker trained, he knows "sit" and "Buddy come", and is learning "mat", "wait", "down", "off", and "out". He’s also learning to jump up less in his exuberance to greet people, to pull less on his leash during his walks, and is crate trained and almost housetrained. With much still to learn, and because of his high prey drive towards small animals, Buddy’s best home is one that is patient and loving, committed to his ongoing socialization, with another well-balanced, large dog as his companion and playmate. He cannot go to a home with any cats or small animals.
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care, enabling us to save more lives!
Adoption fee is $250 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!
