ican Staffordshire Terrier who’s just a big silly CLOWN with a wacky sense of humor cause I looooove to make people laugh ~ just a SUPER friendly guy who never met a stranger on two OR four legs! I have a stable, even temperament: HIGHLY INTELLIGENT, easy to train, AFFECTIONATE, extremely GENTLE, and GREAT with other dogs because I looooove to play! And "love is in the air," just check me out with my new BFF girlfriend, the STUNNING Ms Shania ~ what a LUCKY boy I am !!! I'll do just about anything to earn YOUR praise but that's easy enough for me as I'm a really GOOD boy to begin with. And you should see how often people stop my handler, asking to pet ME when we're out in public, proclaiming that my GORGEOUS black with gold brindle coat is pawsitively STUNNING ! I've got a LOT of that true Amstaff personality so I'm equally happy lounging quietly by your side in true lounge lizard fashion or enjoying a more active lifestyle – running, hiking, going for walks, but I’m very GENTLE indoors, FABULOUS with small children and I ride GREAT in cars! Mare says I’m the PERFECT canine ambassador, a GREAT COMPANION and friend because I have a heart as big as all outdoors. I’m just happy she’s so pleased with me, but then I’m a HAPPY kinda guy anyway ~ happy, silly and LOYAL is what I’m all about! I’m a SWEET, kicked back, well mannered companion that takes life in stride and I’m hoping to find someone(s) to be my fur~ever friend(s) ~ a human family of MY very own! Why wait??? Simply call Mare at (505)316-2089 for a private "By Appointment Only" showing at our "Adoptions in the Park" !!! Or contact us via our petabulls/adopt website. PLEASE include YOUR phone number on all inquiries as we are RARELY around the computer these days :) Open 10 am to 7 pm Wens thru Mon. Closed Tuesdays. OR come meet the PACK at our Wild Pet Food Plus Pet Adoption event Saturday, Nov 17th, from 12 noon to 5pm - 3301 Menaul Blvd NE Suite 10, Albuquerque, NM 87107. We hope to see YOU there !!!

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
