on. She is available for out of state adoption.** ++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hi, my name is Chloe! My owner got sick and could no longer take care of me. The nice doctor at the clinic was kind enough to let me stay here until I find a new home. At first, I was not so good with other dogs but now they let me go to daycare very day with other dogs and I realized they're not that bad. As a matter of fact, it's alot of fun to run and play all day! I am very sweet and love pets and cuddle time. I am loyal and will love you forever if you choose me to be your new companion. I would prefer a home with another dog, and I especially love boy dogs! Wanna meet me? Email savapetwac@yahoo.com I LOVE other dogs, belly rubs, cuddling with my humans, going for walks, sun bathing, eating, giving kisses, going for car rides, being included in all family activities I HAVE A loving and gentle disposition, a tail that wags incessantly and kisses waiting for you all the time. I also have one eye that doesn’t work and that requires eye drops daily, and since my mouth/jaw was injured prior to being rescued, I do have a minor snoring problem. I have excellent hearing and a strong bark and will alert my family when I hear unfamiliar noises or sense that something just isn’t right. I GET ALONG WITH all people and dogs that I have met so far (and I’ve met many). I am comfortable setting appropriate boundaries with overly-zealous dogs. I WOULD RATHER NOT share meal/eating locations with other dogs as I am a rapid eater and have a ferocious appetite. I can get a little bossy when it comes to food. I would definitely prefer not to be in a shelter again as I am the perfect (easy) house pet. My foster mom has had to kennel me a few times while traveling and although I prefer to be in a home 24/7, I am quite flexible. I NEED to be in a home where I can be affectionate. I love attention but am very satisfied just lying next to your feet while you work or watch TV. Although I have learned some basic commands, I could use some additional obedience training. I AM an easy to please, and eager to please affectionate and happy middle aged girl who loves my humans and responds well to correction. My early years were challenging, however, I am beyond thankful to all who rescued me and provided me with love. I am looking forward to “paying it forward” from here on. A PERFECT DAY FOR ME INCLUDES a couple of short walks and/or car rides, a few belly rubs, snuggling with my human(s), a nutritious meal or two each day, and laying on a soft rug, dog bed, or soft human furniture (if allowed) next to my humans while they work or relax. I PREFER NOT TO have to ruff-house with other dogs though I am good at escaping to my own quiet place) IF YOUR FAMILY is looking for an easy, trustworthy, calm and affectionate family member who aim to please, then ask for Chloe! 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
