he’s great with my daughter, Kara. We started with pigs, then goats and then our livestock guardians, Rocky and Apollo. It all started with 4H. My husband said to get the kids involved to keep them busy. The joke was on him! Now, we are raising and breeding them. I am a stay at home of 5 living the country life raising livestock. Grew up in San Diego and now I am out here in Aguanga, CA. We breed, Anatolian Shepherds, Chocolate Labs, Boer Goats, Nigerian Dwarf Goats and a Hereford pig. These are not just my breeding stock, these are my 4 legged babies. Our dogs see a vet for all their shots and are kept up to date on shots. Our goats are tested for CAE, CL; Johnes disease, with negative results. They also get their CD&T shots. Rocky(our Anatolian Shepherd Female) has an OFA score "Good" for hips.
Its a learning process....and a hard one at that. But also the most rewarding one. The experience my kids are getting, the joy and the chores! But they have learned so much in the past 3 years working with our animals. I have learned so much working with animals and about myself. I would have never thought I would be learning to milk a goat, give shots and help deliver a kid.
