If I had a checklist, attention would be number one on said checklist! I’m Tiegan, I’m a mini size version of an aussie, or what I like to call, cute size. They say that some of the biggest gifts in life come in the smallest packages. And I, I am that small package, all 19 lbs of me! Even though I’m a mini aussie, I still have big, big energy. Let me tell ya, the other day, the other foster pups and I were zooming around the yard, and it was paradise. Boy, a fenced yard would be amazing in my new home, I could run around with an indestructible toy, get my energy fix, and maybe we could chase each other? A dream! In fact, let me jot that down on my checklist, a yard. Loud noises tend to make me do a double take, so the familiar scenery of a yard seems like a safe bet!
Shall we continue? Next on the list would be affection from a loving human that showers me with cuddles. I would be happy to plop down next to you anytime you’ll let me and in return I’ll give you the sweetest kisses. Wait. Is that someone at the door? Ope! That’s my cue to leave. I think I’ll take a second over here, ya know, act normal, do your thing I just need a moment with the new faces. I do warm up, I’m just a bit shy at first. I’ll break out of my shell once trust is achieved. I do, however, make friends with other dogs pretty quickly. I don’t need one in my new home, but I could make a good playmate if that’s the situation. I am still getting used to kids, I’ve met a few, but only one at a time. Too many little ones could be overwhelming, so maybe a home with adults would be better for me!
I’m a good girl when it comes to crates, and I know many commands including come, wait, leave it, off and go potty. I catch on quickly. I do understand that the potty is outside, but let's get on a schedule or if you have a doggie door for the yard, that would be nice too. I’m not aggressive on a leash, but I’m still trying to understand the concept of it. Should I go faster than you? Slower? I feel confused about it, so let's work on that together if you take me on adventures. I remain quiet in the car and I really only bark when I’m alarmed. Aside from being a little reserved at first, I promise I’ll never leave your side and be your best friend if you’re willing to give me a bit of your love in return.
*Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. ADOPTION EVENTS:
Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.

FOSTER CARE:
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. NUTRITION:
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
