unters, in the garbage, his doggie pal's bowl....your plate.....
He's great with kids and dogs. No cats. He is a loving boy, outgoing and happy.
He and his brother Snoopy (now adopted) had been with us before under the names of Scout and Copper. They came back to us because they are escape artists- especially Darwin. He can jump a fence of at least 5 and a half feet, and on walks he is master at wriggling out of his harness. Snoopy was more mellow and would follow his brother's lead, and so it was regretfully decided to separate them. Snoopy now has a home with a new sister. Darwin is a sociable boy and would like probably like a friend too, unless his new humans are around him all day.
He was much loved in his original home, where they knew how to deal with his eccentricities. That owner had left tips on how to deal with him. They advised not to let him outside unsupervised, and to keep all food out of reach.
He has his shots, is neutered, and is chipped. So Handsome!

For further info on the adoption process, please visit our home page and check out the "Adopt a Dog" section, which has thorough instructions. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records.
Our prices are higher than the shelters' because we nurse the dogs through their illnesses and get them needed surgeries. Also, unlike shelters, rescues do not get financial aid from the government and must rely on donations, grants, and adoption fees. Our fees start at $150 and go up to $750. The higher end is for our most in demand dogs, such as puppies, young beagles, and hard-to-find purebred dogs. The lower end is for dogs that have been here for a while. Because we are a charity, the fees for our dogs are officially "donations" and are therefore tax deductible. You can think of it as donating to a worthy cause and getting a dog in return!
The beauty of coming to our Apple Valley sanctuary is that you can see all 90+ dogs. Email your application and ask for more details.
