Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: No, respectful kids over 12 are ok. Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Hi, I'm Lola, and I'm looking for my perfect Forever home. I am eager to please, obedient and completely potty trained. I do fine free roaming the house if you leave, but also does well in my kennel, especially if you cover it entirely with a blanket. I LOVE tennis balls, tug of war, and long stuffed toys that I can flop around. At night I snuggle up with Foster Mama in her bed, and I sleep quietly through the night. I can also sleep in my kennel, if you don't like company in your bed. I love being outside, using my Beagle nose to explore the yard and the fence line, so a fenced yard would be so great for me! I am mostly a loving couch potato, but Foster Mama says exercise would be good since I could lose a few more pounds. I do like to let Foster Mama know in my Beagle voice when there are other doggos and people outside, so shared walls may not be the best for me. Little kids do make me nervous, so I need a home with grown-up humans only or with very respectful older kids. I lived with a male beagle for the first years of my life, but I had a few conflicts with female dogs in my foster home, so everyone thinks a home without other dogs is might be best for me now. Overall, I am a happy, calm girl who likes routine and a quieter home - will you give me all the loves forever? Adoption Fee: $395 INTERESTED IN MEETING ME? If you’d like to arrange a private meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting .healingheartsrescue/adopt **Note on breed and age determination: Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ. ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Wellness check Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate) Age appropriate vaccines - rabies as required by law and distemper combo or proof of positive titer test Heartworm test if over 7 months of age Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites Microchip ~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care. ~ Adoption fees are non-negotiable and fees are listed on the dog's profile ~ Adoption fees can be paid the following ways with the required sales tax added: PayPal Credit Card Cash WANT TO HELP SAVE MORE DOGS? 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
