d her classmates at Brockway raised enough money to save precious lives from a high kill shelter in southern Virginia. Grace tells us, "I wanted to sponsor a transport because my dog, Dipper, came from Joyful Rescues and I wanted to help other animals like Dipper. We chose the name "Rover" for all the dogs' last names because the kids at my school helped me raise the money and our school mascot is the Brockway Rover. Some of the first names were picked by the classes that raised the most money." ~ Grace Dewey was born about July 7, 2017 and will likely top out in the 28 lb. range. Please understand that we are truly guessing at breed and ultimate size. He is extremely social and just filled with tons of fun energy! Truly, he is busy and we are looking for a home with a fenced in yard (Beagles tend to have wanderlust) and kids would be fun, but what Dewey must have in his next home is another fun dog that won't tucker out before Dewey feels it's time to take a nice long nap and on your lap would be perfect! This is all we know so far and will be learning as we go. The southern high kill pound feels it is embarrassing to ask questions as they feel it embarrasses the person dropping off their pets. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $450.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
