hought she had found her forever family she now finds herself once again looking for the Right Forever home! Winnie is currently in a great foster home in Northeast Ohio where she loves to snuggle with her foster Mom. Winnie also enjoys running around in backyard or hopping in the car to go for ride. Winnie gets along well with her furry foster brother however she probably would do better in a forever home as an only dog where she can be the center of attention. Winnie loves her people including kids but is not a fan of cats. She knows how to sit, stay, and the word no! Winnie is house and crate trained however much prefers to be hanging out at your feet or next to you on the couch then in a crate. She absolutely loves to sleep next you in bed too! Winnie walks well on leash but does tend to pull a little as she loves to explore and use her nose as she walks about, as well as even at 5 she still need plenty of exercise. Winnie is up to date on her vaccines, spayed, heartworm negative and micro-chipped and even had her teeth cleaned and fixed. Now all that is missing is a placed to call home FOREVER! Winnie's DREAM home should have a Physically Fenced Yard and of course a loving active family who is committed to giving Winnie lots of love and cuddles. Is that your home? If so, please consider filling out an application online at: nbran/adopt/adoption-application Once you application is received the coordinator in the State where you reside will be in touch to follow-up. Need to reach your State Coordinator, find their contact information here nbran/about/state-provincial-coordinators. Winnie's adoption fee is 325.00 which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated with bringing Brit like Winnie back to good health and readying them for adoption. Don't live in Northeast Ohio or close by, No Problem! NBRAN also has a wonderful transport team willing to help bring Winnie to her new family, up to 1400 miles with the adoptive family being responsible for the last 100 miles, at no additional fee. Still have questions? Contact Ohio Coordinators Roberta Ruck roberta.ruckgmail or Erin Kennedy erinkennedy459yahoo Thank you.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
