39;s Good w/ Cats ! Hi there, I'm called “la Petite” cause I AM ! I’m also a VERY RARE black brindle and tan, 3 year old, spayed female American Bully (Amstaff with LOTS of English Bulldog back blood) AND a true POCKET COMPANION who's known to be a TOTAL house dog that aims to please her people! I’m a super friendly, lovable clown that adores hugs and hanging out with my human and canine friends, especially when spending with my bestie, the handsome Mr Mello, all day long! You can just see the LOADS of character in my SILLY facial expressions revealing that I’m nothing but love and laughter through and through cause I’m ALWAYS happy, smiling and FULL of life !!! I have a SUPER stable, even temperament so I'm CALM, highly intelligent, EASY to train, super AFFECTIONATE, extremely GENTLE and very WELL BEHAVED indoors knowing that's the place to be kicked back. I’m a QUIET, laid back, LITTLE Lady who's spent her entire life in an indoor home so I’m easy going indoors (and out) and always display impeccable manners, lounging quietly at your feet with a favorite bone to be the perfect companion. I’m a very sweet gal who’s housebroken, crate (though I certainly don’t require one), car and leash trained: walking very politely on lead, PLUS I'm even good with cats! And, I even sit nicely for treats (immediately AND without being asked, thank you very much :) I especially enjoy touring in an automobile, playing with children and engaging in just about anything that makes YOU happy so that we can spend family time together! I have a heart of gold, and I learn really quickly and love to please, especially in response to an experienced, calm, assertive pack leader that I respect. Mare says I’m the PERFECT companion because I have a heart as BIG as all outdoors. I long to find that special person(s) who will appreciate my LOVELY personality and the life time of devotion I will gladly give YOU in return! Why wait??? Simply call Mare at (505)316-2089 for a private "By Appointment Only" showing at our "Adoptions in the Park" !!! Or contact us via our petabulls/adopt website. PLEASE include YOUR phone number on all inquiries as we are RARELY around the computer these days :) Open 10 am to 6 pm Wens thru Mon. Closed Tuesdays. OR come meet the PACK at our Wild Pet Food Plus Pet Adoption event Saturday, March 16th, from 12 noon to 5pm - 3301 Menaul Blvd NE Suite 10, Albuquerque, NM 87107. We hope to see YOU there !!!

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
