as not all dogs will be attending the event. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped. * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, May 27th and May 28th from 12pm-4pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed. Stewy is a year old English Bulldog. He weighs 50lbs. He's crate trained. Though there are moments you get to see he's still a puppy, over all, he's really more of a quiet gentleman. He was a rescue from the shelter. He was listed as a stray. We don't know what his story was prior to the shelter but we know what his future is with the phenomenal home we have promised him. Stewy has not had an opportunity to be around a lot of dogs. He shows a curiosity towards those he has met and almost an awkwardness. We will continue to invite dogs into his foster home to meet him and see how he does. If there is a dog in his future home they will need to be very dog savvy, nondominant but not overly submissive. Bulldogs are known for pushing other dogs around at times so he needs a confident dog who doesn't need to prove he's in charge. Stewy will definitely need a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. Priority will be given to those who have had a Bulldog and understand the specifics of bulldogs whether behavior or medical issues that are often prevalent as they get older. **Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend) **If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
