e so long, no one wants to grow up with out a real home. Please help Amie get into her forever home. A wonderful foster has even sponsored part of her adoption fee to help get her into a home! Amie is still a puppy at heart, she loves to be loved and has been here for so long and needs a home of her own. She is not over 10 mo and still growing. She is a great dog and we adore her. She loves people but is so scared and came from a horrible situation. This poor girl has been through hell. She has never had a family, a home, a soft bed, or anyone that was hers. She was a number in a cage. She was one of a hundred with only moments of attention a day, if any. She deserves so much better then what she had. She is a great girl and is a stunning white girl with brindle spots. She is amazing and she is stunning. She has a soft sweet face and a wonderful personality. She is a great girl. She has natural ears and tail and we adore her. She has just learned to wag her tail. She is a gem. We recently assisted with a puppy mill raid. There was a situation where over 100 dogs were living in deplorable conditions. The dogs were living in their own filth, tiny cages, small runs with up to 10 dogs to a run. The dogs were well fed but often abused, neglected, left out in the cold, or heat. The kennels had no heat, no water, no plumbing so they were living in their own waste. They were being neglected and the workers were doing everything they could but the resources were not there to help the number of dogs that were there. We are so glad we were able to help out and save some of the dogs that were in need. These are amazing dogs. They are all pure bred dogs, with champion bloodlines that the breeder was selling for over 1600 a dog! These dogs needed a soft place to land to learn how to be amazing dogs. We are so glad we were able to help, and for the people who worked to save these dogs. It was during one of the coldest and wettest weeks we had, the conditions were horrific, and everyone pulled together to help out. These dogs are becoming amazing dogs and we know that there are some very lucky homes that are getting amazing dogs. Amie is a great girl who has never had a real start in life. She is learning to be a dog and a pet. She has never had anyone that spent any time with her. She has a home for the first time in her life. She is loving the attention, learning how to use a dog bed and many other things. She has been learning about kids, dogs, cats. But she is fearful and needs someone that will give her time to adjust. She is just very scared and will need a home that can keep showing her that the world is not a scary place. She is a great girl and we love her. She is amazing. Amie is up to date, dewormed, flea treated and will need to be altered when she is old enough. She is working on house breaking, crate training, and basic commands. Because she was so timid when she came in we are starting slow and not pushing much. Most of the time we are working simple socialization. She would do great in a home with a best friend or another dog. She is very smart and wants to please. She is a great dog and we adore her. She is learning about toys, treats, and the wonderful things in life. Please do not pass this girl by she deserves a great home. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. We try to do as much as we can to evaluate them, both with in our group and if the dogs come from other rescues or shelters their evaluations as well. However dogs are individuals and will react to different situations differently. This means that we do not know how a dog will react in every situation. We give out our best guess based off information provided but the handler of a dog and the way they are introduced to a situation makes a huge impact. So if you have any questions of how to introduce a dog to your home, please let us know and we will provide as much info as we can from pamphlets to helping find a trainer in your area. Our rescue aims to help dogs who are passed by and over looked by most rescues and people. We help the dogs who are in need of medical care, vetting, training and breeds that most will not help with. In most shelters if you are large dog, a big dog, or a male dog; from the moment you walk in you are on barrowed time. If you have docked ears or are a guardian breed your time was over before you walked in the doors. We aim to save these dogs and give them a second chance. Please help us save more lives by helping with our medical bills as they grow. This year has already been hard and we have many medical dogs in need. https://www.gofundme.com/v2eap2f8 If you would like to adopt this pet please send us an email. Applications will be sent to you via email. We do our best to get back to emails in 24 hrs. If it has been longer then that please resend another email. We would love to hear from you. We welcome any questions that you may have. Our goal is to find the right fit for every home, not just any home! We have been informed that some of the links to email us regarding our adoptable dogs are not working. This has been on going for a few weeks with petfinder and a few other links. If you find this to be an issue that you are having please send an email directly to us at: RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com If you are inquiring on a specific pet we do ask that you put the name of the pet in the subject line. So we know who it is that you are inquiring regarding. Thank you in advance for understanding as we work through this. As with any rescue we are always in need of donations. MANY of our dogs come in with special needs or medical issues. These need to be resolved before going home. If you would like to make a donation toward a dogs medical care you can use our paypal address RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com you can also email us for a physical address. We are always in need of dog food, soft food for some of our special needs dogs, collars, leashes, crates, and toys!

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
