n rescue almost his whole life. We want to see this boy get into a real home. He is a sweet boy who needs a home that can work with him. Please help us find a home who can spoil this guy like he deserves. Part of his adoption fee has been sponsored to help find him a home. Louie is a stunning boy and built like a brick. He is a stunning white boy with a smushy face that will melt anyone’s heart. He is still just a baby boy and very young but he needs to grow up in a home and not in a rescue. He is a great dog and we adore him. He has natural ears and tail and a zest for life. He is a great dog who has over come so much and really just needs a family that will love him and show him how amazing things can really be. He is a great dog and we adore him and know someone will fall in love with his personality and love for life. He is a great dog and we adore him. He is a great dog who wants nothing more then a family to love him. We recently assisted with a puppy mill raid. There was a situation where over 100 dogs were living in deplorable conditions. The dogs were living in their own filth, tiny cages, small runs with up to 10 dogs to a run. The dogs were well fed but often abused, neglected, left out in the cold, or heat. The kennels had no heat, no water, no plumbing so they were living in their own waste. They were being neglected and the workers were doing everything they could but the resources were not there to help the number of dogs that were there. We are so glad we were able to help out and save some of the dogs that were in need. These are amazing dogs. They are all pure bred dogs, with champion bloodlines that the breeder was selling for over 1600 a dog! These dogs needed a soft place to land to learn how to be amazing dogs. We are so glad we were able to help, and for the people who worked to save these dogs. It was during one of the coldest and wettest weeks we had, the conditions were horrific, and everyone pulled together to help out. These dogs are becoming amazing dogs and we know that there are some very lucky homes that are getting amazing dogs. These boys are still very timid. Coming from the situation they came from they had likely never had any attention or affection. They are learning about simple things like getting love and soft beds. They were so scared that they were afraid to eat for the first few days. They love cookies and are learning things are ok. They are doing great with kids, people, and even other dogs, animals and anything else we can show them. They were scared of everything. Their whole world had been lived in cages and small cells. They were prisoners. They will need homes that understand that they may take some gentle care at first. These are amazing dogs who deserve great home, soft beds and cookies The boys are all up to date, dewormed, flea treated, and will need to be altered when they are old enough. They are working on house breaking, crate training and basic commands. They are doing amazing but we are not pushing them as they have had enough tragic events in their lives. They are amazing dogs and we love them. They are happy healthy dogs who just want a family with people to love them. All have done great with cats, dogs, kids, ect. They are bulldogs and will need homes that understand that they may need a job and love toys. These guys are really loving squeaky toys and tennis balls. We adore them and want to do what is best for them. We spend a lot of time trying to get to know the dogs in our program as best as we can. This means that we have spent time introducing them to dogs, cats, kids, animals, people and as many things as we can. We try to do as much as we can to evaluate them, both with in our group and if the dogs come from other rescues or shelters their evaluations as well. However dogs are individuals and will react to different situations differently. This means that we do not know how a dog will react in every situation. We give out our best guess based off information provided but the handler of a dog and the way they are introduced to a situation makes a huge impact. So if you have any questions of how to introduce a dog to your home, please let us know and we will provide as much info as we can from pamphlets to helping find a trainer in your area. Our rescue aims to help dogs who are passed by and over looked by most rescues and people. We help the dogs who are in need of medical care, vetting, training and breeds that most will not help with. In most shelters if you are large dog, a big dog, or a male dog; from the moment you walk in you are on barrowed time. If you have docked ears or are a guardian breed your time was over before you walked in the doors. We aim to save these dogs and give them a second chance. Please help us save more lives by helping with our medical bills as they grow. This year has already been hard and we have many medical dogs in need. https://www.gofundme.com/v2eap2f8 If you would like to adopt this pet please send us an email. Applications will be sent to you via email. We do our best to get back to emails in 24 hrs. If it has been longer then that please resend another email. We would love to hear from you. We welcome any questions that you may have. Our goal is to find the right fit for every home, not just any home! We have been informed that some of the links to email us regarding our adoptable dogs are not working. This has been on going for a few weeks with petfinder and a few other links. If you find this to be an issue that you are having please send an email directly to us at: RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com If you are inquiring on a specific pet we do ask that you put the name of the pet in the subject line. So we know who it is that you are inquiring regarding. Thank you in advance for understanding as we work through this. As with any rescue we are always in need of donations. MANY of our dogs come in with special needs or medical issues. These need to be resolved before going home. If you would like to make a donation toward a dogs medical care you can use our paypal address RisingPhoenixWa@aol.com you can also email us for a physical address. We are always in need of dog food, soft food for some of our special needs dogs, collars, leashes, crates, and toys!

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
