Back in December of 2022 her then owner dumped her off in an unfamiliar area in a snowstorm, she also had a partial blockage that resulted in surgery. We know that Desi wasn’t treated very well by her owners as she bears scars of the improper use of a shock collar. Once Desi was healed up she found her new best friend and had been living happily since March of 2023. Sadly her best friend is dealing with serious human medical problems and is unable to give Desi, who he calls Lulu, the care she needs. So she is now seeking a new home yet again. Desi LOVES balls she will play fetch for hours if you are up for it. Always drops the ball in front of you waiting for you to throw it next. Her love of balls also means she needs to be monitored when around toys as she can also tear them apart. (We don’t want her to have another blockage) Desi can be particular with the dogs she spends time with so for now she would do best without other dogs in the home. While Desi can be a typical stubborn bulldog she also is very oriented towards people and wants to share her love with them and keep them safe even from strangers. Desi needs to continue working on understanding that most people are not a threat to her or those she loves. Given her past this will take time and patience.
