Name: Howdy Breed: Retriever bulldog mix Approximately Age: 8 weeks as of 3/4 Approximately Weight: 10 lbs Currently Living at: foster Hello, my name is Howdy and I'm an 8 week old, 10 pound, male, retriever bulldog mix puppy. My brothers and sisters and I am waiting patiently for our forever homes. Our foster home is great, but we'd love to have homes of our very own. We're really excited to come to DC and hopefully find someone to love us, but we're kind of nervous, too. Everything is so big and new and different! We're looking for someone to cuddle us close and tell us everything will be okay. Are you that person? We've heard a little about furever homes from some of the bigger dogs in the shelter. They sound like a dream come true! We've heard you sometimes get your very own little bed and some toys to share and even some yummy treats. But we're most looking forward to the cuddles and kisses and love. We just can't wait for a family or person of our own to love with our whole puppy hearts! We're pretty little still, so we'll need some help learning the ropes. We can do it though, we're really smart and we just want to make you happy and proud of us. We think puppy kindergarten at an obedience school sounds really great. We think we'd like nice long walks and trips to the dog park, too, if it's not too much to ask. Due to a puppy's need for attention and frequent bathroom excursions, we do not adopt dogs under 5 months of age to homes where no one is home during the day. This means no 9-5ers, unless you commit to hiring a dog walker to come multiple times a day. Howdy is not old enough to have had all of his vaccines. It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, he is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Due to his young age, Howdy has not been neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 7/7/17! Like most puppies, Howdy will need to work on his housetraining. Howdy will also need to go to obedience school so he can grow into a well-socialized dog! The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of transport from the shelter and routine vetting and transport from the shelter.
