Tulip Seashell! Buttercup and Tulip come to us comes to us from a rescue collaborative where assistance was given to someone in the community who had gotten in over their head with dogs. Buttercup (fawn) and Tulip (black) are 8 month old, 4 lb Chihuahua SPAYED FEMALES. They *may* be littermates. They are also microchipped, vaccinated, free of parasites and have had some retained baby teeth pulled so that they do not cause problems down the road. Buttercup had an injury to her eyes (perhaps from competing for food or other resources or an accidental one from her mother). The left one had to be removed. The right one is intact but she does have impaired vision. She is on eyedrops right now to see if we can improve her sight. She may need OTC drops in this eye ongoing. (Tulip's eyes are fine). Buttercup and Tulip are sweet and shy. They melt into you when you love them and do not have a single mean bone in their entire bodies. They would likely do best if adopted to separate homes perhaps with a social dog to show them the ropes. Both are working on their leash and house skills but are very quiet in their crates in the car and do well crated. They are also good at using pee pads if contained in a crate or x-pen. They are great with other dogs and are smaller than most cats. We would not recommend them for homes with small, young and very active children as they are both timid and fragile. Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and given any additional treatments (dental work, bloodwork etc) as recommended by our vet.
