state of Wisconsin #266969-DS- 501(c)3 Approved Rescue. NEW VIDEO!! Meet Pancake! She's about a year old and weighs 11 pounds. Pancake came to us pregnant.. Her puppies are weaned and she has been spayed. . and she's ready for her new life! She is a goofy dog that keeps me laughing all the time. SHE HAS BEEN AROUND CHILDREN 7 AND UP AND IS GREAT WITH THEM. She is house broken and crate trained. She also does well on a leash and we are working on staying in the yard. She can be nervous around new people and does take a little time adjusting. She love her Kong toy and long last chews. She was a real good mom to her puppies and is a sweet, goofball when she is comfortable with you. 11/9/16 - Sorry it took me a while to update! Pancake is doing great! Ever since her puppies weaned, she has been much more interested in other dogs. She loves to run and play with my dogs. She can even chew on bones in the living room with the other dogs present! I think she is just protective of her crate and doesn't like the other dogs to go by it. Pancake loves to roll around on the blankets. I don't know if she is trying to get the "clean laundry" smell on her, or her dog smell on my blankets. She seems like a much happier dog now that her puppies are weaned and she can be a "real" dog. She is going to make any family an awesome addition. This dog has been fed a high quality 4 star or better dog food. As a Rescue we recommend CANIDAE Pure for adults & puppies. This food can be found at most Pet & Feed Stores in any state. You will receive a $5.00 OFF coupon for this food upon adoption! All puppies & dogs have had a wellness exam by a licensed Veterinarian, are healthy and come with a Certified Health Certificate (CVI). All adult dogs have had spay or neuter surgery. They are up to date on vaccines & heartworm testing. K9LLR puppies/dogs are also up to date on deworming and have been given Capstar, Frontline Plus/Advantix II/Revolution and or Heartworm Preventative. All dogs are groomed prior to adoption! The donation for this pet is $225.00. Each adoption Includes 30 days of FREE Pet Health Insurance all you need to do is register! Serious inquiries only! We cannot hold any Puppy or Dog. If you are interested in meeting this dog, Please submit an application which can be found on our Website: www.K9Lifeline.com under adoption process. We reserve the right to deny any application. Vet References ARE ALWAYS verified, if your past or present dog is not current on heartworm tests and health exam, please do NOT apply. Cats MUST have record of being to the vet within the past 24 months. Please Read: Applications for this pet are handled through E-mail or Online Application ONLY in the order they are received- NO phone calls please as we keep track which approved adopter has first choice on a particular dog using E-mail. Most of our puppies are mixed breeds and in most cases we do not know who their parents were, we do our best to properly Breed ID our pups, however we cannot be 100% sure of any mix breed puppies mix.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
