ADOPTION PROCESS Before 2nd Chance Dog Rescue places a dog in his/her furever home, the potential adopter is required to fill out an Adoption Consultation Application. Once we have reviewed your application we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet and home check. 2nd Chance Dog Rescue will only adopt to families living in the Queen Creek, Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, San Tan Valley, and Phoenix area - as long as it is within 50 miles of our rescue (Queen Creek). If you are ready to meet one of our amazing dogs CLICK ON THIS LINK TO FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION CONSULTATION FORM Meet Adoptable Shelley! 2nd Chance Dog Rescue saved adorable Shelley from the Maricopa County Animal Shelter after she came in as a Stray with a mammary tumor & possibly additional undiagnosed medical issues landing her on the Euthanasia List. Without any hesitation they decided sweet Shelley deserved a chance to be treated & to live! Shelley ended up having emergency surgery for pyometra (an infected uterus that can develop from not being spayed) and her mammary tumor only ended up being a cyst! As she began to heal her playful personality really started to come out & she is quite the happy & loving girl! Shelley is estimated at approximately 5-7 years old but you would think she is a puppy with her bursts of high energy! She has since healed from her surgery & is currently in Foster care with all sizes of other dogs, getting along with all of them & preferring to cuddle up to the largest of the group! You can also find her curled up in her multiple doggie beds under lots of blankets, but her favorite spot in the house is near her person to give out hugs (right up at your neck) & kisses! Shelley is crate trained, house trained, rides well in the car, is leash trained, takes correction well, & knows how to sit. She has SO MUCH love to give that your only regret with be that you did not find her sooner to bring her into your family!
