I recently had surgery for a growth and am doing really well I am doing my happy dance because the biopsy came back benign! My foster mom says I am healing nicely I just wanted you to know that I am happy here, but I am still waiting patiently for my new family to come and meet me Please ask CSAC more about me and hopefully we can meet soon I cannot wait Thanks so much Kisses Macy 06/29/2016 UPDATE I am here at my great foster home enjoying my new life There are even cats here to hang with They are just great I am one of those pups who doesn't like other pups, but cats are just perfect for me Life is good now I love my four daily walks I'm really happy to meet people when I am on my walks Just love all those pets people give me I do love my people and am not thrilled when they leave me alone My foster grandmom keeps me company when Mom is at work She is so wonderful to me Guess we keep each other company! I love her Other great things to let you know about is that I have never had an accident in the house Never! The groomer says I am a very good girl and extra sweet I love to sleep, too I even sleep late because Mom likes to do that I am quite obliging ;) I can't wait to be someone's special girl And remember, I love cats and cheese and my people! I know there is someone out there just waiting to meet me and take me home Love and thanks Macy 12/04/2015 UPDATE My skin is getting better I only get one medicated bath a week now They did find out I have a thyroid condition so I do get medicine for it The Docs removed the tumor that was on my front shoulder Unfortunately it was diagnosed as cancerous The Doc thinks she removed it all! Like any cancer survivor, I will need monitored for any reoccurrences I need a great foster or adopter who will keep me happy, healthy and active Can you help?   3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
