Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. No What kind of home would be best for me? Marty is looking for a family that loves adventure! He needs family who can keep up with his energy and provide him with room to run and play! What is my personality like? Marty is all puppy! He loves to run and play. After he is tired out, he likes to snuggle and just wants a human to be with. Marty LOVES squeaky toys. If it makes noise, he must have it. No questions asked. Marty will run around for awhile, come to you for love, and then run some more. This boy is a "class clown" type, and loves to entertain people. How do I act when I first meet new people? Marty never meets a stranger. He comes running up to you, full blast. He does not hold back. If you have a toy or treat, Marty is going to be your best friend. Even if you don't, Marty will still love you. He is sweet as can be. Other tips and tidbits: Marty is very smart and when he was a young pup, he was the first to learn how to climb out of his playpen. He can climb a 4 foot fence, but has not attempted the 6 foot. His new family will need to keep an eye on him if they have a low, chain link fence. Marty is very curious and will try to explore if he sees an opportunity. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet.   3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet

  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
