;rsquo;t had a lot of training in my young life and not many people that I could count upon. Having one eye does change your outlook on life and your perception of things at times. I am a sweet boy with lots of energy to burn but not always so confident. I need a home that has good current Doberman experience, and that understands the mind and antics of adolescent Dobermans. I will also please need a confident leader who will lovingly and patiently work with me. Patience and consistency are so important when dealing with an adolescent! Taking me to obedience class that trains only in positive reinforcement will be required of my adopted family. I ride nicely in the car and don’t do too badly on leash so some of the foundation for training has been started. I really want to please if someone would just give me the chance, work with me and see it through. I would be best in a home with dogs that are close to my own size – no small dogs- I like to play and play hard! I also passed a cat test. All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. All of the above Dobes are pure breed Dobermans unless otherwise noted. We hope you can find a place in your heart and your home for one of our rescue Dobes. Please Note: In most cases we require a fenced yard. We do not place our rescue dogs in homes with very young children (under the age of 8 years). We set these limitations, not because of aggression issues with our dogs, but because Dobermans are generally large, active dogs and can easily knock down, run over or easily trip a small child, causing a serious fall. Also, we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. Our adoption area encompasses Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
