These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation.

Bear is a very handsome pup who loves his people. He would be an excellent hiking, walking, anything partner. He has plenty of energy and is always ready to be your trusty sidekick! He does very well meeting new people and other dogs. Bear does ok with cats, although he’s tempted to chase them if allowed. He loves to play fetch, and he LOVES to have playdates with dogs his size. However, he gets pretty amped up around other dogs (and wants to play non-stop!), so it would take a very playful/tolerant dog that can hold their own and set boundaries to live 24/7 with him, as well as pet parents who are able to reinforce that. Because of that, Bear would be IDEAL as an only dog. Bear loves to be with his people. He is kennel trained, is a good car rider, learns quickly, and he’s a gorgeous, fluffy, sweet boy!
Like any of our dogs, this sweet, handsome boy would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that this breed needs. Because of that, Bear's ideal owner will have prior GSD or other herding breed experience. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills, and manners.
Bear's adoption fee is $425, all of which goes back into offsetting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs. We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped.
