Xander is a gorgeous, very sweet, 7 and half year-old boy. Xander has the softest, plush coat. He is a very sweet, affectionate boy. Due to his previous lack of socialization, Xander can be wary of people who approach him to invade his space. He has however gotten better, and he is great with people, as long as he gets to approach them and sniff them first. Xander is a little nervous around small children, but fabulous around teenagers and adults. He is sweet, treat motivated, eager to learn, loving and he takes treats gently. In typical GSD fashion, he likes to show affection on his own terms!
He is a very sweet, eager to please boy, and a typical GSD who will do wonderful with a knowledgeable owner. Xander is well-behaved, fairly calm for a GSD. He loves to go for car rides, walks, doggy events, and anywhere that dogs are allowed. He loves to play fetch and be petted. This smart, affectionate boy will be the delight of a very lucky German Shepherd lover.
Xander's adoption fee is $225, all of which goes back into offseting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (treated if positive), and microchipped. Like any of our dogs, Xander would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that his breed needs. Because of that, Xander's ideal owner will have prior GSD or other herding breed experience.
