uable Real Estate! This TRUE account has over 300 footnotes, documents written by the culprits. Learn how city officials were cruel and illegal in their actions. I'm a great dog with a mind of MY OWN!! ARK ADOPTION Saturdays 11am - 1pm FloridaWild Veterinary Hospital - 115 E Euclid Ave, DeLand We never know what pets will be at Adopt Day. Read Bio at www.ARKsaves.com; contact name under bio for pet location DONATION $ 150 I 'm 3, weight 11 pounds, and am bossy and healthy. Mix these two breeds together and you invent one heck of a demanding, active, and bright friend. I'm energetic, somewhat an alpha dog. I love attention but on my own terms. And again if you know these two breeds mix them together and you have a CONTROL FREAK! I'm also a very bright dog and learn quickly. I can sit and fetch and follow orders. I like to run and romp and go for walks, play in the yard, and go for car rides. I thoroughly enjoy being petted, scratched, and talked to. I chase squirrels and adore playing ball in the yard. I don't like to be picked up or have things put on my head. I may nip and THAT is the reason that whoever adopts me surely will enjoy ARK's free dog training lessons. That's all I need - a little bit more training. I don't like to be groomed - but lots of dogs don't like that! If I feel threatened I give a warning - that's good to do - a low growl and and sometimes nip. But I'm NOT A BITTER. I need to not be with little children and I need a disciplined dog person. Also small dogs tend to bother me because they don't step in line with what I want. As for big dogs I'd probably whimper and follow them around trying to get them to obey me. You will get 8 free dog training classes so you'd better believe if I got that you'll be all over me and I'll be all over you! BARK, BARK COME AND GET ME PLEASE! contact maggihall14@gmail.com If you can't find what you want at ARK go to the following: Southeast Volusia Humane Society - 1200 S Glencoe Rd (mile east of I-95), New Smyrna; 386.428.9860; sevhumanesociety@gmail.com; Mon–Sat 10- 5; Sun 10-2 Halifax Humane Society - 2364 LPGA @ I-4, Daytona; 386.274.4703; www.halifaxhumanesociety.org; Mon–Sat 10–6; Sun 10-2 Putnam County Animal Control – 523 Reid St, Palatka; 386.329.0396; putpets.com (don’t put www); Mon–Thur 10–4; Fri 10–12; Sat 9-3

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
