ecially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 5/23/2023 Reason for being in rescue: stray Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Judge is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 51 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes, Judge requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? From stray to staff favorite, Judge is a young boy looking for his happily ever after. We have absolutely no history on Judge, only that he was found underweight and starving for food and affection. He's come so far since arriving in rescue. Judge is looking for a home where he'll be your only pet. He's too much energy for cats and too dominant for many other dogs. He isn't a dog park sort of guy, but would love the camping, hiking, active lifestyle that comes with being outside. Judge is learning what it means to be a pet. He needs continued positive reinforcement training in his forever home. What is my personality like? Judge is an estimated 1 year old Labrador Retriever/Shepherd mix who was found as a stray and safely brought to CPR in late May of 2023. Judge is very active, and loves running and playing with his favorite toys. He is looking for a home than can provide him lots of outlets for his energy as he is always on the go. He would do best as an only dog as he is pretty dominant with other canines and likes to be the man in charge. He enjoys being a sole companion and would do anything for his people. Judge prefers to eat his meals by himself - he does not want you to take it away and he does not want to share. We cannot blame him. He had clearly been fending for himself for a while when we found him and had to search for every bite of food that he had. Judge is currently in the process of being crate trained and learning different things, and he has made tremendous progress so far. Additional basic training would help him continue to gain confidence and mannerisms. Judge is very intelligent and very eager to please his people. He is a true lovebug once he feels safe and secure with his people and is loyal to a fault. Judge needs a home where he can go on lots of adventures, explore the great outdoors, and find ways to exert all of his energy. How do I act when I first meet new people? Judge can be a bit shy at times when meeting unfamiliar people in a new environment, but he quickly warms up with time and patience. Once Judge is comfortable, he becomes a very spunky and affectionate boy. Other tips and tidbits: Judge was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 4 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 05/23/2019. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
