give! I love my foster family - they broke me out of doggy jail when I was a little puppy. I try so hard to make everyone happy, and everyone has been really nice to me, but so far no one has wanted to take me home. I would really love to have a family to call my very own. And a family with a nice fenced yard will make me super happy! I try to use my best house manners all the time. Foster Mom says I am a smart and snuggly girl! I love attention and lots of 'good girls' and I will be very ‘loyal.’ Could I be a happy, wiggly, snuggly addition to your family? Approximate age/birthdate: ~ December 2013 Weight/size: ~ 55-60 lb Housebroken: YES as long as you do your part Crate trained: YES … she can do overnight without any accidents Personality: a bit shy until she knows you, happy, sweet, loving Energy level: Medium with bursts of high … she’s a sweet girl, but will benefit from some consistent one-on-one training Fenced yard required?: YES … she absolutely needs a place to run and play safely off-leash. It is also necessary to keep the neighbor's cats and the community squirrels safe! Does he/she jump fences? NO Leash walk: YES Obedience training: Knows ‘sit’ Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK but does get a little nervous at first Spayed/neutered: YES Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES Microchipped: YES Social with other dogs: YES – at least with her foster siblings. She (as with any dog) should be properly introduced to any new dogs before being allowed to run free with them Social with cats: NO CATS … she barks at them and we are sure she would chase them Good with children: She seems to like children as long as they are calm and gentle with her. Again ... proper introduction is the key. Adoption donation: $175 If you think BeBe might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online. We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if BeBe picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed. Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.

  1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
