Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Grace is missing her teeth on the top side of her mouth, but this does not effect her health at all. Weight: 59 lbs Height: Est 17" at the shoulder. Adoption Fee: $249 Fence needed? no, she just wants to follow you where ever you go. What kind of home would be best for me? Grace would love a home where she can finally rest indoors, and be shown love. She doesn't mind to share a spotlight with other dogs and she is very calm. What is my personality like? Grace is exactly what her name describes. She is incredibly sweet and did not deserve the neglect that was given to her in the past. She forgives and looks forward to the next human she gets to meet. Grace has a very meek and mild personality and is not hard to please. She loves treats but does not know any basic commands just yet! She enjoys going on slow strolls through the farm while meeting new dogs/people. Her energy level is on the lower side of the spectrum considering she is a older gal. Grace would be a great dog for someone who matches her calm and sweet spirit. Notes from caregiver Melissa 2/7/2017: "Grace is just what I expected from a sweet older gentle dog. I fell in love. She's not used to cars, but she is used to furniture. She got herself up on the garden bench and enjoyed the scenery. What a calming energy she was. Granted our time together was brief, but I enjoyed our time together immensely." How I act when I first meet new people: Friendly. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Estimated birth date 11/19/2006 Please note - we do not ship dogs.   3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
