beauty sleeps for? A photo sesh? Grrrumpies now, you better do some cuddles to me too. My name is Roxy and I am one of a litter of 8 puppies found on the side of the road in Decemburrrrr, it is still cold in January though. Foster Pop says we are Labby mixes and gonna be big girls someday, but right now I am only 9 weeks old. We are mixed with some breed that makes eyes very confursed, becuz one of my eyes is cornflowers blue and the other one is chocolate brown. I have a sissie named Stella and her eyes are like lookin’ in a dang mirror, but she is smaller than me. Snuggles is my main thing with people. I am a playful pup and my sister is very fun to jump on. When my sissie isn’t available for playtime, I make do with my chew toys, toys are for chewing on, but people hands are a big NO NO. Rules. Gotta follow them people rules. I am going to take my nap now, but you can holler at my assistants at God’s Dogs Rescue to adopt me. Just email Adoptions@Godsdogsrescue.org and tell them you want ME! See ya soon : ) GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter - ALL of our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. UPON adoption this dog/pup will be transported to you in YOUR area!! Each dog comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations that are appropriate for their age, micro-chipped, heart worm tested and on current on monthly flea/tick and heart worm preventative. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. ****Please realize that breed mix and size when grown are guesstimates based on the dog/pup's characteristics and coloring, unless we have mother/father in our rescue...***** ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $200.00 for adoptions in TEXAS only. IF THIS IS AN OUT OF STATE ADOPTION, TRANSPORT TO YOU is included in the adoption fee of $400.00 for adult dogs and $450.00 for puppies. We transport all over the country!! All our dogs are socialized and we try to provide you a good understanding of the dog’s personality. Please visit our website for more information about what we do; http://www.yourtxrescueconnection.org/. You will also find helpful information about transport, our adoption application and pictures of our all our dogs/pups looking for homes!! Please contact us at Adoptions@Godsdogsrescue.org for more information and/or fill out an adoption application on our site. Thank you for wanting to adopt a rescued dog, their LIVES depend on it! 1. Do your research - find out what types of dogs would be a good fit for your lifestyle and the activity level of your family. Also keep in mind the grooming needs of certain breeds that might require frequent maintenance.
  2. Decide what you can handle - before you get sucked in by all the adorable puppy eyes you're about to see, think long and hard about the appropriate age dog for your family or if you are capable of caring for a special needs dog. Puppies are a lot of work, if you don't have time for potty training and obedience classes you'll want to consider an older dog. There are plenty of middle aged, vibrant dogs up for adoption as well as many senior dogs that would be a great fit for a family looking for a more subdued dog with lots of love to give.
  3. Learn about the shelters and their adoption policies - It might be easier to start looking at shelters within a certain radius of home but don't be afraid to venture out to other states as well. Many states have larger populations of adoptable dogs and their shelters are willing to transport pets to suitable adopting families. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
  4. Start looking… - Once you know what you're looking for and what to expect you can start your search through thousands of adoptable dogs. PuppyFinder allows you to search by age, breed, location and gender.
  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life. Even though photos and descriptions can tell you a bit about a dog, you can't get a true feeling for the animal until you are able to interact with them and make sure they are a good fit for your entire family, including other pets.
