I have heard people say about me. Curious is one. Affectionate and loyal are other ones. But my favorite thing anyone has ever said about me? That I am smart little guy, willing to learn and easy to train. Which makes perfect sense, honestly, because I’d do anything for a treat.
I have not yet hit my first birthday (I’m about 7 months old) and I am already housebroken, have already learned all the basic commands, and I walk on a leash like a champ. And how many pups my age know how to behave in a crate? I do. I even wait to take my food until you tell me to—although, I have to admit, that was pretty hard to learn.
My previous owners let me meet lots of dogs in my early life, and I’ve gotten along well with all of them. Someone mentioned something about a cat to me, but to be honest, I am not sure what that is. Are they like kids? Because I have lived with older human children my whole life. I’ve done well cohabiting with teenagers, so I wonder if I would do well with cats? Maybe those are different things, though. Like I said, just haven’t met a cat yet.
As you can probably tell from looking at me, I am an active and spunky little guy who just loves to go for a long walk. Just one thing, though: I like to carry my tug toy with me on long walks, because it makes me feel secure. But just between you and me, I also bring it along so that we can squeeze in a game of tug or two along the way, because that is my absolute favorite game to play. I like most games where I can spend time with my humans, but tug is the best game of all.
My foster mom says I would do well in a home with an active human (or family) that is willing to take charge of things. See, I’m still pretty young, and I have a lot to learn, so I need someone who will continue to work with me to be the best dog I can be. I am extremely inquisitive and want to explore as much as I can. But I still might need just a little bit of help controlling my energy level. And in return for you showing me the way, I promise to snuggle up nice and tight next to you on the couch and to hang out with you in the kitchen (you know, just in case you accidentally drop a scrap or two). Because of my exuberance foster mom says she'd rather I go to a home with older kids (12 and up).
What do you think? Could I be your furever home? For more information on me please contact my foster family at baychest@yahoo.com.
