Name: Beauty Breed: Lab Terrier Mix Approximately Age: 8 weeks as of 3/12 Approximately Weight: 8 lbs Currently Living at: DC Foster Hello, my name is Beauty and I'm an 8 week old, 8 pound, female, lab terrier mix puppy. My brother and I am waiting patiently for our forever homes. Our foster home is great, but we'd love to have homes of our very own. We were really excited to come to DC and hopefully find someone to love us, but we're kind of nervous, too. Everything is so big and new and different! We're looking for someone to cuddle us close and tell us everything will be okay. Are you that person? We've heard a little about furever homes from some of the bigger dogs in the shelter. They sound like a dream come true! We've heard you sometimes get your very own little bed and some toys to share and even some yummy treats. But we're most looking forward to the cuddles and kisses and love. We just can't wait for a family or person of our own to love with our whole puppy hearts! Check out some video of me with my foster! We can do it though, we're really smart and we just want to make you happy and proud of us. We think puppy kindergarten at an obedience school sounds really great. We think we'd like nice long walks and trips to the dog park, too, if it's not too much to ask. Do you think you can help us navigate this great big new world? FOSTER UPDATE: Beauty is such a little lady and is very smart. She is always up for a good cuddle and gives quick little puppy kisses. she is obsessed with tennis balls and large toys. She likes to haul around the biggest toys she can find. She also likes to pounce on her brother, Bingo. She loves running around outside and is also a big fan of tug of war. Very good with other dogs and kids. Due to a puppy's need for attention and frequent bathroom excursions, we do not adopt dogs under 5 months of age to homes where no one is home during the day. This means no 9-5ers, unless you commit to hiring a dog walker to come multiple times a day. Beauty is not old enough to have had all of her vaccines. It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, she is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Due to her young age, Beauty has not been spayed. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 7/15/17! Like most puppies, Beauty will need to work on her housetraining. Beauty will also need to go to obedience school so she can grow into a well-socialized dog! The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of transport from the shelter and routine vetting and transport from the shelter.
