Meet Smitty! Smitty is an adorable 8-9 week old, 8 lb, Labrador mix puppy who can't WAIT continue to grow and learn with you! Smitty is a sweet, loving boy in search of his forever family. He doesn't quite understand how he ended up in the scary shelter, but he's been dreaming of long walks, trips to the dog park, and cuddling on the couch with you after work! He is very young and jubilant and can't wait to learn new tricks and become the smartest pup on the block. Because Smitty is so young, he'll need someone to keep an eye on her during the day. We do not adopt dogs less than 5 months to those who have a 9-5 schedule. If you do work 9-5 and are interested in taking this sweet boy home, we ask that you can provide proof of a multi-times a day dog walker so that she is able to get out and about while you're gone! Smitty is good with other dogs so he’d be a great addition to an existing pack or happy to soak up all the attention as an only dog! We haven’t yet had a chance to see him interact with kids or cats yet, so if you have them just let us know, and we’ll do our best to find out! Smitty is not old enough to have had all of her vaccines. It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, he is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog and cannot go on outdoor adventures until he and his immune system are ready. Due to his young age, Smitty has also not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 1/15/19. No exceptions! Like most puppies, Smitty will need to work on her housetraining. Smitty will also need to go to obedience school so she can grow into a well-socialized dog! The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet
