helter (please read all of his info below) – must do application first – email us at hselcobellsouth . From his foster mom - Herbie is a very sweet but high energy boy who wants to play all the time. He will do best in a home with another dog to play with but also where he can get a LOT of attention. He is becoming more loving & trusting as time goes by so an adopter will need patience to let him start over a bit with that and develop trust with his new family. He must have a fenced yard to keep him safe and he loves to sleep with you on the couch or in bed. He is not 100% house-trained, but doing ok on potty pads. He walks much better on a leash than when he first came to us and can be quite loud and barky so not necessarily a good fit for someone in an apartment. He likes to bark to get attention or wants to play or wants something and also when left alone. His one bad habit is that he is quite ‘mouthy’ and likes to nip at your heels and play bite your hands. No children please. He is a very active little dog, loves to shred paper and magazines, get into any dirty clothes and drag his doggy bed around the house - in other words he is a mischievous little guy. One caution - he will need grooming to keep him neat and tidy and so far he is very reactive at having his face groomed so that may need to be done at your Vet's office a couple of times/year. ADOPTION FEES Dogs & Puppies.....$100.00. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more. Yes, there are sometimes exceptions to our normal fee for older dogs or special cases or adoptions of two dogs together. Some of our pets have also been lovingly sponsored by caring people and we will let the approved adopter know about that at the point of adoption.
