Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Snarfblatt (aka Snarfy) is a gentle giant with the sweetest disposition. We believe he may be a mix of Mastiff or Newfoundland, Lab, and maybe Akita or Husky. We rescued this guy the day before he was going to be euthanized, and honestly we can't imagine why they would ever put this lover to sleep. He's great with other dogs and kids and loves everyone. He has not yet been cat tested but we suspect he will be fine, since he was gentle with our hedgehog! He loves balls and tug toys, but his favorite thing to do is nap. He has been recently neutered, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines and heartworm preventative. He walks fairly well on leash (tugs a little bit when excited sp could use more training), knows sit and stay, and will "ask permission" before going on furniture. He is not fond of his crate, but will settle down if no one is home. The only issues we had with him is that he is a very picky eater. He is currently eating wet food but we are transitioning him to dry (or a combination of wet/dry). Give this big boy a chance and you will fall in love. Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Some shelters might have requirements for a home visit, a fenced yard or require you to visit the pet multiple times before you commit to adopting. Understand that the shelters are doing their best to place the pets in suitable homes and these requirements are in the best interest of both you and the pet

  5. Meet in person. - Whenever possible it is best to meet the animal in person before agreeing to bring them into your life.
