If you would like to start the adoption our process is below:
Submit Application with two personal references and a vet reference. As long as we are able to contact your vet and references, it takes just 1-3 days to process and hopefully approve applications. Rescue processes and hopefully approves applications. Once approved, rescue invites applicant to come to the rescue to meet your chosen dog/s, spend time with him/her and then hopefully take him/her home.
Once approved you are more than welcome to come and spend as long as you like with her/him . I just have to work on an appointment basis as I run a boarding/day care business and the rescue and so am really busy, but by planning ahead of time I can be pretty flexible.

CHUBBY was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas, where dogs generally have just 3 days to be saved before they are killed for space. Chubby is spayed, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed, heartworm tested negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 10 March 2015 and at the time of rescue in March 2018 weighed around 11 pounds. Chubby has been listed as a Yorkshire Terrier Mix, however, we are not able to say for sure what breed she is, it is up to you to look at her pictures and decide what you think she looks like. Chubby is bonded with her brother Lil-Buddie and so we are going to be adopting them together for an adoption fee of $1,000 for both dogs. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed. ​When Lil-Bubbie and Chubby arrived at the rescue they were extremely scared. I had them living in the small dog area so that they could decompress and adjust to all the new changes and where they could also see the other dogs interacting with me. Lil-Bubbie after a day or so gained his confidence and he is happy to go and explore and follow me around. Chubby took a bit longer and even then she was still scared. I brought them both over to the house so that they could adjust a little better and within a few hours both dogs were jumping up on the sofa, lying as close as they could and enjoying the attention. Lil-Bubbie is the most confident and is happy to dart through an open door to see what is on the other side. Chubby watches him and clearly gains her confidence from him, although whilst on the sofa or close by she has adjusted extremely well. Although small dogs, they will still enjoy an active lifestyle, to make up for lost time of a not so wonderful life. , I have not seen them with children, but as long as the children understand that they are not toys, with their demeanor and personality I have no doubt that they would be great with them and a lot of fun too. They need guidance and training and we recommend families go through at least the basics of training with them themselves so that boundaries, personalities and body language can be learned from each other. Lil-Bubbie and Chubby ride good in the car. We do not have cats or livestock at the rescue so cannot comment on how he would be near or around them. ​We do not recommend dog parks for several weeks, if not months, it is so very important for families and dogs to form a strong bond and get to know each other before exposing them to the potential dangers of dog parks. Although all GaDaH dogs are very well socialized with other dogs, lots of other dogs have not had the benefit of this socialization and do not always know how to play and act with other dogs. You also do not know the control the other families have over their dogs and you should always have a good recall for your adopted dog before going to dog parks. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend. If there are options to arrange transport, we will work with you to make it happen.
