Posted Breed: Hound / Mixed. Maverick has been a wonderful foster to this point. When he first came, all he wanted was to cuddle and be petted. He has gotten along wonderfully with our resident dogs.

Maverick has been introduced to our grandchildren, two 5 year olds, one 1.5 yr old and one 1yr old. There have been no issues at all with them playing with him. He loves to sleep with us on our bed and because he's a bit leggy he pushes us around a bit. Lately some of his puppyhood has been showing. He is starting to chew more and carry slippers and shoes around the house. He is very good with house training, but since we have a doggy door out to the backyard he has had very few mistakes. It remains to be seen if he is able to signal his needs otherwise. He loves to play and chase around the yard with the older dogs. He would make a wonderful cuddle dog because he seems to want to be a lap dog even though he's a bit large for that at about 45 pounds. If you would like an over-sized lap dog who loves attention and to play, please fill out an application so you can meet! Maverick is participating in our Rush to Rescue program, and he is currently being fostered by a pair of offenders at the Rush City Correctional Facility. While there, Maverick will be attending a training program with a certified trainer and will be working on his commands with his handlers. Please contact us to find out more about Maverick.
