n Barney is the wing man for you! Weighing in at a slender and muscular 46 pounds and 18 mos old. Barney is agile, powerful, and amazingly flexible. He travels well in the car (in his crate), and is ver y excited with any new location or adventure. He LOVES playing at the Starr Farm Dog Park. He plays extremely well with other dogs both large and small. Have not observed him around any cats. He is also great with kids. Barney's needs: He is a puppy with lots of energy and requires daily exercise. He doesn't seem to have any "bad habits" such as getting on furniture, begging for food, or chewing sneakers or furniture. He does enjoy chewing on his Nylabone, reindeer antler, Kong, and bully sticks. When Barney first came to VT he couldn't/wouldn't even sit. He can now sit, stay, come, and "good night" (command to get in his crate). He has even learned to ring some wind chimes with his nose to indicate that he would like to go outside. With a couple weeks of repetition he seems to be able to pick up most concepts. A perfect home for Barney would have a fenced yard (or an invisible fence as I think he would learn this quickly). His new family should know he needs daily walks (preferably morning and evening) or any other exercise. Another dog in the house for Barney to play with would be a great scenario. Barney will absolutely cuddle if you want and lean on you when you're at his level (whether you want him to or not). He will also just lay down on his own bed and curl up while I'm working around the house or watching TV. Barney will be reciprocate a great friendship as your earn his trust and he learns the routine. Video to come!
