Ryker is a 3yo and 25 lb Pomeranian mix who would be perfect for a quiet household of one or two patient adults who don't get a ton of visitors, have another dog, and have a regular schedule. He is house-trained, pee-pad trained, leash-trained, loves walks and car rides and has been getting straight As from his foster mom. Ryker (Piper to his friends) was living on the streets near a border truck stop where he survived on handouts and had to be very choosy about his friends. Ryker's whole world changed when he was rescued. Ryker was so fearful and scared at first, but has learned to trust people (and is partial to women) and loves being bribed with really good treats. He has learned how to play, and his favorite toy is his Kong which he has turned into quite a floor show. He gets along with other dogs, and does well with a dog-tolerant cat. He will bond very quickly and will appreciate all the love you can heap upon him. He is still fearful of unpredictable kids, so he would appreciate a kid-free household. Ryker is fine left at home if he has another dog to keep him company, and he needs a secure fenced yard & home. Ryker loves his walks, always on a Leash, and the dog park is his favorite destination. Ryker is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. Ryker will require a home visit prior to completion of adoption. His adoption fee is $250 which helps Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. ♥ All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog. We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information. All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog. Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog.
