Lincoln will only be placed in a home with very experienced dog owners. He must be the only animal in the house. He also has a strong preference toward women and would be best in a home where the lady of the house is his primary caregiver and coach. Lincoln has an extraordinary amount of potential in the right setting. He is eager to please and intelligent. He's hungry for love and affection and stability. He thrives with gentle direction and loves to learn new things. What is my personality like? In the first 10 minutes - hesitant. Then you throw a ball for him and your in. How do I act when I first meet new people? Cautious, but I warm up if you take it slow with me and if you bring a ball. Other tips and tidbits: Lincoln has a known bite history. We know he is fearful of men. We are working to determine his other triggers. Lincoln is dog aggressive. We have not cat tested him, but based on his reaction to other dogs will not place him in a home with dogs. Notes from Lincoln's caregiver: He walks well on a leash and loves car rides but he is hesitant about getting out. I think it’s fear - of the unknown. My personal opinion is all his behaviors are out of fear. He loves to play with anything that squeaks. He knows sit and shake and he is very eager to please. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet.
